Which web directories rank best for terms related to individual categories?

Everytime I Google around, I see a category by botw, DMOZ, Yahoo! etc. for terms I am working on getting clients ranked for. For example
¨Name of the City Real Estate¨
will come up with several category pages from several categories in some of those directories on the first few pages.
Which DP member owned directories have some really good rankings for terms other than web directory related ones?

 

I have submitted my site on Rakhi on few paid sites. among them http://www.ewebpages.org & http://www.gii.in are ranking excellent for keyword related to site.

 

Just wanted to add that lately I have seen www.romow.com all over the place as well.

hmm do you get a lot of blog related traffic?

 

2yi performs very well in the serps. I expect romow also to have great results

 

I get a good many blog reviews that i do.... if thats your question
exact numbers i don't know but will start monitoring and update you...

If my results don't match perfectly to the given word please do remeber that
every data center doesn't update at the same time so that may be why you see me
at 1st in one and 2nd in other....

ranking your cats for search terms is good, but the question should be if you get traffic from those search terms...

 

right, I am talking about looking at your stats and seeing if there is anything other than directory related terms and direct traffic from DP

so would someone mind telling me what they add to thier search box to find a directory to submit their site too?

Or are you using a directory list like smashing directories or ??

would like to know so that i can better target my niche

i get a lot of "powered by: phpld" searches

 

well that helps ...

well if i were submitting to directories and wanted to find them i would type this into the search box....

1. submit my site to web directories

2. add my site to directories

3. get backlinks for my website

4. Paid review web directories

5. Free web directories

those would be what i type into the google toolbar...

so what would you type in .... Anyone?

I think Romow, Gii and DD has the best SERPs - except Alive and BOTW.

I have also seen Busybits ranking quite good for many terms.

 

How do you know what others are searching for?

Im not asking you what is your favorite web directories are....

Dont get me wrong im not bashing you friend.... as your entitled to your opinions
but im asking a legit question and dont want to hear who is my favorite web directory and or owner.

reason im asking is very simple... to find out what terms that submitters use in google as thats
what we ALL need to rank high for not just impress each other with... look im in the top 10 for link directory!
I myself love competition but the only submitters that look for those terms are other web directory owners...

maybe this question is better answered by a regular website owner..... as we know were to find other web directories
either by a directory list or word of mouth or here at the forums...

Besides -- I think you have gone through POPOTALK's thread few days back --about which directories are ranking for which keyowrd--and all these 3 directories are found to be having high SERPs. Directorydump, and others are in all list.

Yes mate --I am never favoring anybody from the other. Always trying to state only what I find.
In the last line I told about Busybits whose owner --I don't yet know

Besides -- I have been trying overture --and web directory had 17K+ searches during April. I also tried other keywords discussed --but they were of very low traffic.

I am doing some work on that --to Optimise my BIR in 2008 when it becomes little older

 

Really?... dam i didn't think that web directory was that important were that many would actually look for that term....
hmmmm i guess you know im coming for that 1st place.... Sleek Web Directory will be their soon enough
