I am an experienced affiliate marketer used to doing lots of adwords campaigns and PPC on other search engines. Where can I go to get some excellent quality advice which is not normally available to the general public? I am referring to experts in affiliate marketing and adwords and where I can expect to pay for expert advice. Thanks, Jon
Start a thread in the services section of the buy/sell/trade forum and see if anyone's interested in doing some consulting for you.
No need to pay me, Jon... ... I helped a client of mine compete directly against The Rich Jerk (Felix Kelly) before he sold his affiliate review site on eBay for $379,000... ... In fact, I tracked down his actual picture (one of the hardest guys to track down actually)... here's his picture if you're interested: http://thumbsnap.com/v/MucSH4w7.jpg I mention this because Mr. Kelly, after many failed attempts of sending pay per click traffic directly to affiliate sites, tested the idea of preselling each lead first. He did this by offering an "unbiased review" (which unfortunately was nothing more than testimonials and hype). And the rest is history. In fact, I just found out he's trying to sell his Rich Jerk empire for $8 million... here's the proof: http://thumbsnap.com/v/PobYRRFu.gif That's the secret -- send your PPC leads to your own page first (I highly recommend a blog page actually), then redirect to the affiliate site. I reveal my affiliate marketing/pay per click secrets (free) periodically at: http://www.marketing-ideas.org/Marketing-Junkies-Alert.php By the way, I just announced a new pay per click service that helps Google Adwords' advertisers double their clickthru rates here: http://www.marketing-ideas.org/PPC-Ad-Boosting-Service.php
You're best bet is to read blogs, find what offers the best advice. Learn WHO knows exactly what they are talking about. Get in touch with them. The ones who REALLY know what they are talking about unfortunately are making more than enough money and don't need to consult to make a living.
You have hit the nail on the head. It is kinda like catch-22. If they are super-successful they won't want to tell you. Nice blog by the way.
Thank you, karamkshetra. Pretty simple to do, too. I'm always amazed when I see how many affiliates use expensive pay per click services to send leads directly to Amazon.com's affiliate program and hope to make real money when they pay less than 10% on a $9 book. It's virtually impossible. But by having a blog setup, you can post unlimited reviews -- letting your prospects pick and choose the reviews they like (and then clicking to the recommended affiliate program). By the way, my affiliate program pays today's commissions tomorrow via PayPal -- 50% on all of my products. Because of this unique payout, it is a closed program (because there's a high risk of affiliate refund fraud)... you might want to check out the details at: http://www.marketing-ideas.org/Affiliate.php
For the most part that's true...but there are a few really good ones out there that do consulting. Most of the time they have a decent "waiting list" and are very selective about which clients they will work with. Talk to a lot of folks jon12345 and take your time and find someone who you are comfortable with. Good luck!
GuyFromChicago, do you do paid consultancy? I sent your a PM but I'm not sure if you check them or not.
I do check my PM's...and the other answer is yes and no. I sent you a reply. My particiaption and the advice I give here is not a platform to grow my own business. I find it easier to give unbiased, honest advice when I'm not pushing an agenda or trying to land clients. I honestly don't think I've ever taken a paid client in the PPC space via DP in the 3+ years I've been a member here. Best of luck Jon!
