When can you say that a post is spamming or not? I really feel so embarrassed every time someone sends me a PM saying that hey you're almost beyond the limit.
it's really simple...make your posts meaningful and useful... if you think you have something to contribute then post...if not, don't post...
who is sending you the pms, if it is a mod then it is ok, other wise just foreword the pm to any mods and let them take care of it! i would suggest you not to give links in the posts, if the link is very important the you can provide it, other wise consider not to put links! always make a big and meaning ful post, a typical 20 word post looks like a spam. the rule says, your posts must add value to the forum and in case it dose not, then it is a spam!
Is the OP talking about private spam or public posts? I received an IM today that was spam and that's supposed to be against Digital Point rules. If it's a problem your best bet is to contact a mod.
yeah but there is no link to mod. you just can report a post. otherwise nothing except for a bad reputaion.
Thanks for the info uttoransen. You see I'm posting for Affiliate Programs stuff and most of the time my post range from affiliate offers to product promos. If we post either of these or both some people think of this as spam By the way, how do you go about reporting to MOD? I'll just copy the post and send a PM to any MOD?
When you do what I did, which is copy+paste introductions. That's spamming. I learned that the hard way today. I'll recount it in about 5 mins in my 1,000 post thread.
I get your point Vadym. I also got banned because long time ago, I just do the miraculous copy-paste thing. But now, I don't do that anymore. As much as possible I edit and change something in my previous post before posting it to another forum. In here, however, I noticed that when you post about some products or promos of a merchant site related to Affiliate Marketing, you're called as spamming
It is called spamming if you are beyond the limit. SEO spamming is a set of techniques that manipulate a blog or a website for the purpose of creating unrealistic boost in its ranking in SERP. Here are just some examples of some SEO black hat spam: Cloaking:When a website presents a set of information to a search engine different from a set the user is seeing, then cloaking has been done. http://rugjeff.com/412/what-is-seo-spamming-and-black-hat-techniques/
spamming is posting very much post in the same thread going about nothing, right?? ( i thought it was that)
Thanks for the info guia. But you know sometimes I don't know where to put myself anymore. I post merchant offers for the purpose of attracting more affiliates to their program. Is that wrong? Is that spamming?
if that's the only thing you are posting...then yes i'd consider it spamming... forums are meant to have a community spirit and the even exchange of conversation... just posting affiliate threads all the time is spamming... though there's nothing wrong with that (if it's in the correct forum) if you do it every now and then while you get involved with everything else too
I get your point Daniel. Here's my present scenario -- I post merchant offers on the same discussion board everyday. But I also combine that with posting questions related to my problems with SEO and others here. I also post insights and other helpful posts in here. What can you advice to me now? Should I just limi posting merchant offers to every other day or what?
I see you have no signature, why not just put it in your signature and it'll be advertised in every post you make. The more quality posts you make, the more people will check it out. Btw, affiliate links aren't allowed in the content of a post, but they are allowed in signature links.
Thanks for that reminder Politician. I'll see if I can already add in a signature now. After you see if please tell me what you think about it.
