    Hello,

I find this very weird.. on one of my site, i get an average of 200 uniques a day... and average of 10 clicks a day...

when I first looked around 5pm, there was only 3 clicks and about 100 uniques... but when i got back earlier at 10pm, i got 6803 uniques and 30 clicks!

i know for sure something is wrong... right now i got 90 guests in my site.. i only get max of 15 guests at a time..

i didnt even advertise this or didnt get any paid traffic... what should i do?

    panic!

a surge in traffic means nothing to google.
look at your server stats and see where it is coming from.

    thanks...

Just to be sure, I emailed Google.. dont want to get banned..

I checked my analytics for the site... it says 85% of the traffic are 'Direct Traffic' and spends only 39 seconds on the front page

am i just being paranoid or could it really be legit traffic?

depends on the kind of site it is.
someone could have posted a link in code or some forums don't allow live links.
    that can explain direct traffic.

    Rhommel,
30 sales are more than 20 but I bet it's an ad with your site (by error) maybe not from Google. Do not look a gift horse in the mouth, but if you can find the reason, perhaps you can make it happen regularly. GL
    Much Success,

I get a lot of mystery traffic too. On my referrals in awstats, it shows inbound traffic from odd sites that are often names of prescription drugs or casino sites, and if I click on them there's not a link back in sight.. Very strange.. It's got to be some sort of odd new spam tactic or something,.. But it's really annoying because it floods out my referrals list and washes out the legit traffic!
