Does this mean supplemental results on google? And google is very slow in picking up my pages. My pr droped from 4 to 3 and now to 2. Can anyone help? what am I doing wrong? thx.
No it will actually say "supplemental" beside the url. Dig deep down into your site results and you'll probably see them. Are you using an XML sitemap?
no, could that influence this kind of view? I've not seen them on other domains, is it bad? p.s. I use wordpress for some parts of my site, for some I use vbulletin. But I've link structure optimized also tittles
Did you have to click a link that says "Some of the results were omitted because they are similar to other pages being dispaly" or some junk like that? It doesnt imply supplemental, its just saying that it wont display them because their not important/unique enough. A quick look at that screenshot shows that the majority of the indented results use the same Meta description - Pages with the same meta tags across multiple pages often suffer from this, try making the meta tags unique for each page...
but all pages have unique title I worked hard on that... thought that would enough. It will be hard to optimize for meta description on every page. Is there something else I can do?
The results you are seeing are very normal and to be honest you should be using the site: operator to view your site in their index - check this. Digging deep down there are urls in the supplemental. If your are really concerned about them then check out Supplemental Listings - How To Avoid Them. As for the XML sitemap it can help as it give you the option to notify Google that something has been updated. Some people have experienced problems using the Google sitemap but you'll not know until you try.
also, http://www.seomoz.org/blog/ they have same problem. And their description tag is optimized. I'm if thats the problem. cormac thx
To be honest I don't worry to much about supplemental as it can be a pain to fix, unless every page is hit bad. As long as your main pages rank well and traffic is good then just keep building on content.
supp. results are the pages which are lost the qaulity with a temprorary time. http://www.seo4fun.com/notes/supplementals.html is great resouse to learn what supp. result abd to avoid from them
if you want to know the page with a supplemental type this at Google.com "site:http://www.yousite.com *** --view"
These aren't supplemental pages. If they were, you would see an indication against the results.Supplementaries arise from too similar titles, dup content and too little text on pages. The SE sees these pages as too irrelevant to be put into the main searchable cache.
