What's your PPC conversion rate?

I'm looking to possibly do some PPC advertising and I'm curious to know what the typical conversion rate is. I'm thinking that the conversion rate from PPC might be low due to the fact that people who use search engines are often looking for free information on a topic and aren't buyers.

I hear that PPC has become pretty expensive and I don't want to throw money down the drain. Your input will be greatly appreciated?

There's not really a typical conversion rate...varies tremendously based on the offer, competition, products, etc, etc.

Mine range from under 1% to over 80%.

I think it depends on the product and keywords you use to promote the site.

Freebies do well but pay very little. Satellite systems pay alot per sale but take thousands of hits to make 1 sale.

I'm not clear... do you mean clickthru rate (via Google Adwords) or conversion rates (from your landing page)?

The simple answer is it depends.

I always like to generate $4 for every dollar spent from my landing pages within 30 days -- but I sell information -- if you're selling actual products, Keystone markup is pretty typical.
