I need creed pictures for my website. How can I legally get some or should I edit the images and make them my own?

    Have you tried sxc.hu?

They offer free stock photography BUT read the terms of using the photograph before doing so, especially if it's for a commercial purpose.

freefoto.com has a great deal of pics on their books. The thing is that all the photos are free to download, and once you download them you can do almost anything except commercial usage. Yuo can find the details on the site.

Bands don't really care if you use their pictures. They're famous, they expect to be posted on the internet.

I guess you are right. The more publicity they get the bigger the media rating goes.

Maybe the bands don't care, but the photographer is the one who usually owns the photo rights. I have a neighbor who is a fairly famous photographer of famous people (music industry) and he sues everyone he finds using one of his photos. If the band owns the photo rights, and don't care if you use it, they would have no problem giving you permission.

If you're willing to pay for the pictures around $1 then there is iStockPhoto and Fotolia with nice collection of pictures
