Wow.. that's wrong... wouldn't that cause trauma? I know we had these alert drills because but they were just a warning (announced) no gun or anything.. and we were told prior to it too...
These fake guns and things are really bad. And the children might suffer from mental illness, due to the fear... Dont the school staff understand that huh?
I think they had the right idea of needing to get kids prepared for the sort of thing, but MAN were they WAY off in implementing it. They should make a drill. By telling the kids that it wasn't a drill it caused panic and could have caused a bad situation. It's like a fire drill. Everyone knows that a fire drill is scripted and the kids follow the rules, are calm when it happens, etc. And people know that in a real fire they won't be nearly as calm, but by doing drills over and over the administration hopes to instill at least SOME order in the children when a real fire breaks out. They should take the same approach in the situation of a loose gunman. I hope the teachers get in trouble for that. I wouldn't be too impressed if my professors at university pulled something like that.
Lol those kids must of been so scared. Don't they know that someone could die like that just from being that scared. America is crazy!!! - Prilep
"The sittuation involved poor judgement" This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard in quite some time! Who the hell would think this would be of any benifit? Scaring kids like this. I guess they never heard of the boy who cries wolf. Maybe now when it REALLY happens the student wont believe it and some may end up walking into the line of fire. Sadddddd soooo sad.... I wound't say crazy. I would say IGNORANT!
This is another negative thing that might occur.. not only will may be traumatized (depending on the severity, it can effect your life their future).
So what you are saying is that your friends are Ignorant? I couldn't agree with you more 8everything!
just be thankful that we're from Canada and it's not common at all.. I mean I was in elementary a decade ago... and stuff like this never happened (we did have a drill though). But hmm! I hope it's not common in schools down there.
Don't be surprised if the parents of some of these children sue the teachers for causing the children trauma.
I don't think it's common down there I think it was just a dumb idea. I don't think we will be hearing of it happening again any time soon. People are just a little too paranoid after the 911 stuff if you ask me.
Funny. Sueing is quite common there... regardless... don't they have any education on psychology ???? seriously...
