Hello, I have a sales page for my product on three different domains. One is on a homepage and the other two are in-depth pages. My question is this - As I originally put up on the web, the pages where the sales page is on the site page eg domain.com/pagehere.htm - will the one at the otherdomain.com be punished for dupe content ? Is there a way to show the SE's that it's "ok" to allow all the pages on all 3 domains as they are all my own, as opposed to someone stealing the content and publishing it on their own site ? Surely google will put those duplicate contents on supplemental results.... That is penalizing a dupe site to supplemental index... In order not to to be put to supplemental results... You must make a unique contents for each pages....
Thanks for the replies. That's a shame as the sales page I did was great. How about if I took it off the in-pages on the 2 sites and just kept it on the mainsite.com When all 3 sites are freshly indexed again and crawled by the SE's would the mainsite.com be ranked better as the other 2 dupes wont be up anymore ?
What's the reason for having it on 3 different sites? Can't you link the other two the the page on the main domain?
Not really mate. One site is the main sales page and the other two are on 2 different sites as a special offer, like a one time offer, for the discount.
I think the best course of action would just to be to alter the text then. You should be able to get all three versions looking different while keeping the meaning the same.

First off, there is no duplicate penalty or punishment. You don't get relegated to Google hell. You just won't get all of your pages indexed, and in particular only one copy of this sales page will be in the regular index, the rest of them will be placed in the supplemental index(most likely). If it's a sales page, who cares. Your sales page shouldn't be about SEO. Your sales page should be about selling. The rest of the website should build up the relevancy of your website. I'm assuming if you have the sales page deep within one of your websites then it really isn't going to matter if that one page gets indexed. You'll have accomplished your SEO throughout the rest of your website. The moral of the story is if the page works for you and it's converting, then don't worry about it being put in the supplemental index. Your customers should find it through the navigation of your website, and they should find your website through the proper SEO of the rest of the non-duplicated content. Make sense? M
