    Another AVG fan...:).

It's free and works well...everyone should use it.

I gave up Norton long back - it considered my stock trading software as a virus  .

I am a AVG fan as well, I gave Norton the boot several years ago...funny how many of us think Norton is a scourge!

I have AVG and plan to use it once my Norton subscription is up
But no anti-virus or anti-malware program can get rid of the adware my cousin managed to get on my computer...not looking forward to a reformat

Never. I just never visit suspicious sites, never download suspicious files, and never execute such files.

I have never had problems with viruses in 2 years or so.

actually AVG is good, i have tried it, but then i generally use the norton, norton anti virus is lot better, and it detects and removes a lot of viruses that the other antiviruses can't:rolleyes:

I use Norton AV and have had no problems. It blocks stuff all the time and nothing has got through yet!

the cookies! that's why I was surprised that several people have said...and it found nothing!

I can scan my pc any given day and ad-aware will find 10-12 cookies it does not like and I visit very few sites through the course of the day!

I am one of the many AVG fans and had it for years now, after I realised it was the only one to find a virus at the time.

Not only that, I use their antispyware version.

The only thing I don't have is a firewall, although I used Zonealarm for a while. Except XP's default one.

If the s**t hits the fan, and you never ever know when that can happen, you want to have a thick umbrella! :)

Never have used anti-virus regularly but occasionally I'll scan my computer. Can't even remember ever getting a virus...

I dont have any antivirus installed. :) I just rely on Windows updates and firewall. My laptop has been present for almost 2 years now. So far i'm still lucky i don't get infected. :)
