Would you leave your job for the porn industry??

I don't know how many of you are full time professionals or have full time jobs... but here's a question for you...

Would you leave your job right now to be in the porn industry?

Say you're doing the typical 9-5 or even longer hours job... making a decent living doing a job that has a career ladder that required your university degree or many years of hard work and study... you are in a profession that gathers a certain amount of respect... but maybe you aren't satisfied by workin for someone else, not satisfied with the money, the routine, certain aspects of the job, a fixed salary, having to put up with lots of shit at work, etc...

And you've been thinking of leaving anyway at some point, to do your own thing... maybe startup your own business or whatever...

Then say you have an opportunity....an offer, or even a direct invite into the porn industry...

I am not talking websites or forums... or being a porno actor like most guys fantasize about. I am talking about direct access to the scene.... spending your days casting porn actresses, writing scripts, going to parties. Your face doesn't even have to be in the movies... Your basic salary starts off almost twice as much as what you're making right now and that's only because you're still in the training stage. There are no investments on your part, you don't even have to hold the camera (you have your own staff team expenses covered) and once you establish a site they will do all the advertising/marketing for you and you get 10% of the final profits with projected sales of over $100,000 (per month).. so essentially you could be making over $100,000 a year passively.... all you need to bring is a good idea, and write good scripts, cast the right people.. so certainly there is alot of responsibility and it may get boring after a while

How tempted would you be? Would you do it if it means having to leave your job right now? Do you think that in 5 or 10 year's time you will regret it or it will come back and bite you in the ass? Or you think there's nothing to lose?

 

May I ask why you want to know this? Is it out of curiosity?

Well, I would not do it for personal convictions. Money isn't everything.

 

Yep I would go for it in a split second. I ended up in a career I did not enjoy that much, and it went nowhere.

but i think ti's one thing to see it.... another to actually do it..

i don't know if i do it if ill actually enjoy it. i'd like to say that i can just go and do it and come back to what i'm doing but i think once i make a decision to do something like this then there really isn't much going back...

and yes i know its' a decision that i'll have to make myself in the end. just wanted to draw on other's experiences. just as groundup pointed out i don't want to be in a position 10 years from now where i am not enjoying my career.... and how would you know anyway? by instinct? by doing waht you 'love'? i think there is alot of bullshit about choosing the right career... i don't think anyone knows until in hindsight they can look at it... know what i mean?

 

If I had the oportunity i would say ...hmmmmm... HELL YES.

If you think that the porn movie industry uses movie scripts then your idea of the business is mistaken!

It's not a glamourous lifestyle at all. You've been watching too many gangsta videos to get that idea.

 

Actually, there was an article about a BDSM studio on digg a week or so ago. Seems they really do use scripts - though I guess they're still very primitive.

Just depends on a few factors. Would you be ashamed when people would ask how you earn your living? Or would you just lie?

No, I wouldn't leave that for porn.

Every job has routine, repeated bordom, sometimes feels like its going no where, and yes Porno women are not as smooth as you'd think and difficult to deal with.

If your saying leave a job for a perfect job then yes.
If not, then don't bother.
