Are we to introspective?

I have to ask the question, are we too introspective?

What I mean is, do we (DPer's) create markets just for ourseleves and as such, do then sell ourselves too cheap?

I have a number of sites, 1 in particular is aimed at a (non-webmaster related) niche that allows me to gain far more advantage for the ads/links on that site than is accepted as the 'market norm' here on DP. This leads me to question whether we as 'webmasters' (I hate that term!!) end up creating sites that are aimed at our fellow DP members rather than 'Joe public.'

And would we earn more from our sites if we concentrated our efforts on what our target market wanted rather than on what we think our fellow DP members would like/accept?

Your thoughts on a postcard please!

Well related IT sites are for webmaster/it people

But for exemple a cooking site for what is amed

I agree the market is cheap (for exemple with the directory submission services)

I personally don't snatch any of the DP'ers with my current projects. It's all aimed at America's youth, in general. Corruptful, yes, but hey, they choose to be corrupted.

As for the IT market, everyone chooses to make their price a little lower, to get those extra 100 customers. It's strictly business. There's no union, after all.

Sure I understand that but what I was getting at was the number of non-internet related link exchanges/sales on here that are traded for what is a cheap price as opposed to what is or can be acheived in a more general market.

When you look at the link-sales sites and then compare the prices here in DP there is quite a large differential in the prices got for the respective links.

yes, this point is absolutely valid, some services in dp or in other webmaster forum are so cheap, competition is making the market more tough to earn!
