wordpress is probably start to explode compare to other blog software.
webmasters have been using wordpress to create many automated sites.
more and more user starts to have their own site to blog.
they will get to expose more about wordpress because everywhere you see is wp blogs and start their blogging using wp.

Traffic exchanges have started to come to the forefront of internet marketing as a cheap and effective method of list building, self branding, and general traffic.

People are learning how to use them effectively to make them work.

Key words like splash pages, squeeze pages, brand awareness, manual exchange, etc are starting to be recognized as keys to traffic exchange success.

Problem is the crap exchanges out number the quality ones, good thing is the quality ones are starting to make more of an impact and are holding their ground. If you every try an exchange make sure you use a MANUAL exchange, along with a splashpage or squeeze page (not a basic affiliate page) and you will find yourself a great way to increase traffic and sales.

Word of mouth sure is the ultimate strategy. However, you do need great sites to accomplish that.

If only we could actually know what the next big thing will be we would all be rich.

Exactly ;) For the first few who figure it out.. they'll be a step ahead of everyone in the marketing game! That's why it's good to watch trends.. to see which ones will lead to the next big thing..

I agree I think video is going to be a huge key. Think of it this way. The internet now lets people hide behind a good website. This will be very hard when you start to push video. People get to know you, see you...feel you a bit more. So this has a big impact on the formulation of the Internet marketing strategy. This stuff just keeps getting more exciting! :)

yeah sponsoring the products or service is a good new ideas but just depend on Google that it will treat those sponsors as the paid links or not.... who knows what are they thinking.

    - The big boys will get bigger (namely Google)

    - Anything new that gets traffic will be acquired by the big boys just as YouTube was acquired.

    - Any model that is lucrative (such as cpa) will be adopted by the big boys. They will be able to snuff out the competition and get an increasingly bigger share of the profits.

    - Smaller sites will be competing for an increasingly smaller piece of the overall online revenue pie.

This is the pattern I have seen for several years

I think the privacy factor can still be maintained, but videos will allow sites to be more interactive.

this pay-per-action looks like it could be as big as adsense, in that, people dont have the worry for click-fraud etc.

That is so true. However, the next big thing will be something brand new. So any site that launched with the above 3 will not be the big thing.

Using audio and small video clips will be seen more in online marketing. Small, targeted clips should be used to the target market, not the total marketplace. Same rules, just different media.

Great ideas, but I think that content is going to rule out in the long run. Whether it is Video/Audio/or readable. If you are building sites either the users have to populate them or the company must populate them.

In the end they have to be populated. User interfaces as the younger generations who are more computer saavy are going to start driving the market. The MySpace and YouTube generation are going to start to have larger and larger sums of money to spend. So everything will begin to cater to them as they graduate college. What is it going to be I haven't a clue but I hope to catch a wiff before it goes large.

Video, video, video. Think youtube where the minute a cool video gets posted it can garner 100,000 hits in that week, and over time grow to millions of hits within the year. That's just one video, and I believe that market is emergeing which is why you see so many Youtube clones and spam videos on youtube now.
