I'm completly new to Affiliate Marketing, I first got the idea from a program called "money license" It was a flop so someone pointed me to these forums. I signed up for adwords and clickbank... I'm looking to start on a 100.00 budget... I've been reading through the forums since last night and I hear a lot about "landing pages" I've tried to search to find out exactly what they are to no avail... any information would be greatly appreciated.. thank you, Dave
Landing pages are pages people get to when they click an ad. They should be made in such a way that a large percentage of those people will convert: buy what you're selling. Your budget is too low to really get anywhere buying ads though.
what would you recommend for an initial budget? I don't want to lose very much money... so far with the money license system I'm down 100.00... I'm willing to spend the initial investment as long as I feel that I'll make it back
You don't need anything to start affiliate marketing. BUM Marketing can be done for free but you may want to get a list started and have a website
A list of email subscribers. You can then send emails out (with affiliate links) out to them regularly
ok I now have a website started... as for landing pages... on clickbank arent the HOP links that people click on basically landing pages?
Yes, but you can also build your own landing page. You have two choices: A) send visitors directly through your hoplink to the merchant's landing (pitch) page B) make your own landing page which helps explain the product in more informal terms, from there you send your visitors to the hoplink at subsequently to the merchant's pitch page Some claim method B can increase your conversion ratios. It certainly make visitors easier to track...but people have succeed with and without there own landing pages.
Here are my advices to you: 1. Always start slow when you start a new thing 2. Track everything 3. Test and Split Test all your ads 4. Believe in yourself 5. Read the adwords learning center stuff from time to time. 6. Take it easy. 7. Educate yourself. Last thing: The best expert I found about adwords in affiliate marketing is Jeremy Palmer. He has an ebook and a forum. He is not the million dollar man for nothing (only 27 years old!) You may want to check it and become a member of his private forum. PM me if you are interested.
ok thanks, I need to fine tune things a bit... should I just start with one product? right now I have 7 products I've had 2000 impressions and 10 clicks no sales....
To be honest, you're probably best to try to focus your energies on a single product in the first instance. That way, you can build up experience (and money) for investment elsewhere... Also - don't worry about the flop - these things happen, and you'll look back on it one day and laugh.
Agreed, I would start with 1 or 2 products. Don't worry about losing a little money up front. If you keep testing new ideas...and learning from your failures, eventually you will begin to succeed.
Hi There are a lot of courses and E.books, out there about Adwords. I've bought, or been given a number of them and Money Licence is by far the biggest rip off amongst them. Basically just a simple outline of PPC and certainly not comprehensive enough to simply follow and make money. Luckily, the advice you're getting here is filling in the gaps and giving you a fighting chance of success. Good luck Dave
Hey Dave, $100.00 is more than enough to get started with marketing. Heck, you can market with 0$/day with bum marketing like others have said. Landing pages are a highly-preferred method of generating sales. Here's why: - Capture visitors' email. It's a fact that most people don't buy on the first exposure to the product but rather after 5-7 times. This allows you to keep marketing to your list, over and over. Say you have a list of 1000 people. Say you send out an email and 300 open it, and your product converts at 1:30. That means 10 sales every time you send an email out. - Track your traffic! The script I have set up on my page tells me not only what the person typed into the search engine to get to my page, but it also automatically assigns a tracking ID to their search query, and so when someone buys my product, I instantly know what keyword converted and what doesn't. Saves me cash big time. - Pre-sell your product. Lots of merchants sadly enough don't have a fantastic sales page. The ones that do could be direct linked to... but generally you can improve your visitors' interest by stoking their curiousity a bit, making them interested about the product, rather than just throwing them at a sales pitch right up front. - Offer multiple products. Say you're using direct linking, but little known to you, your specific merchant just plain won't ever convert with the traffic you're sending. With a landing page, you can offer 3-5 different offers and find out which one converts best for you for the same cost of traffic. You mentioned you had 2000 imps and only 10 clicks - that's a 0.5% CTR, so it sounds like either your ad copy could be improved, or you're trying to market to the wrong people/using wrong keywords. Ideally, you should be able to achieve a stable CTR of 2-7% or so for a profitable campaign (unless using the content network... then all bets are off!) Otherwise, a few other people have given good advice here, such as split testing, taking it easy, informing yourself & reading up on how everything works. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions though! -T
Hi, I will warn you that you may want to reconsider using adwords because if you do not know what you are doing you could lose alot of money. There are many programs that will teach you how to use adwords successfully. I see that you were concerned about the landing pages. Beating Adwords tells alot on this as well as adwords in general. Also you may want to consider some web hosting. I know of a great web hosting service and you even get some FREE adwords credits. This way you can test everything out before losing your own money. Shoot me an email and I'll try and help the best I can.
back again... i'm at 235 clicks and 0 sales... money spent on adwords so far... 50.00... I think I need a new product
