not only No, but Hell No ! vista is just an overweight media center. and MS is stopping support for XP in later 08, They are really F'ing themselves *shakes his head * I work on all kinds of computers 5 days a week. I think I'd know what I'm talking about
Ahh yes it's "XP with a new theme". Love that argument. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Features_new_to_Windows_Vista
If your going to quote me, at least do actually Read my post. At no point did I said that, I did say its an overweight media center cheers.
I build PC's for a living, we have now started saying to customers that we wish for them to wait longer before we place vista on there system, we have even contacted our past customers and said we will place xp on there system for free as well and make the system boot right into it for the time been. Vista isn't and was never ready for selling, unless Microsoft will release there files to companies so they can make there software (ie. Virgin 10mb broadband in UK) compatible then it will be not very much use to many people for a while.
Vista isn't just an overweight media center. There weren't a whole lot of changes between 98 and ME, or 2000 and XP either, besides cosmetic stuff and a few new features. Windows Vista isn't all that much of a resource hog, runs smoothly on my laptop with only a 1.6GHz dual core processor and 1gig of RAM.
I like the look and the way Vista runs, but I can't run ANY games, fucking Directx 10 disables hardware acceleration and 3D, so its impossible for me to run any game. I've spent days researching solutions, but nothing.... Vista- No XP- YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been running Vista on a new laptap with 2GB of ram and far outperforms by P4 XP pro machine. The speed and the games are even faster. So to those saying it isn't up to snuff you need to upgrade that PC and get 2Gig of Ram at the minimum.
why should we upgrade, my comp says Vista compatible not...Compatible after upgrading your Graphics card and RAM Not everyone can just run out and upgrade or even buy a whole new computer
If your computer doesn't support Vista, it's an utter piece of crap. Vista will run with a P4 and 512 megs of ram (without Aero). If your comp doesn't support Vista, chances are you aren't serious about computers.
Yep I do support the opinion that Vista Sucks .. and thats mainly because it uses so much resources that its practically dumb to use it only for the cooler graphics .. blah ... If you want cool graphics better get Mac ... Cheers, Venetsian
Vista runs perfect on my system, not ONE problem with it yet. XP used to crash on me sometimes... but honestly... vista has been smooth since I purchased it in late march.
vista is great but it has some problem that need to fix , and some things need to change when this happened (when Microsoft release service pack 1) vista is going to be more great and much secure and that ex
I purchased a new system from HP with Vista Business version on it. Been setting it up and loading software most of today. My overall opinion at the moment is it seems pretty solid, but time will tell. Some what of a little bit of a learning curve for networking, but not bad. I am not a gamer and use mostly web design graphics, animation and flash software. It is too early to tell about software and hardware issues, but my hardware that didn't work with XP64 works for Vista business 32bit version. I like Vista better than XP 32bit for sure. XP64 and Windows 2000 worked great for me. I will report back in later next week for a update.
