    Hello Again Everyone!

This maybe the final contest for EasyPhotoshopCS3.com! :D

    Please see:

    http://www.easyphotoshopcs3.com

This competition is all about glass effects.

I'd like the header & footer graphics to be turned into glass...Shiny, Reflective Glass

...So shiny that you'd be worried about leaving fingerprints if you touched the screen!

All the site graphics etc can be downloaded from here:

    www.easyphotoshopcs3.com/easyps.rar

    ...please work from the PSD.

If you can also somehow 'glassify' the other buttons on the site (i.e. the home, about, news, categories, archives, meta etc) without breaking the page, that would be considered one heck of a bonus, but is not strictly necessary.

The final graphics should fit well with the colours & layout of the site, and any graphics that you 'glass up' for me need to be saved in the same format and size as they are on the site (I also need the PSD version).

$30 to the winner, and I'm looking for a quick turnaround, please can we make this a 24 hour contest!

Reps and feedback for everyone who enters - as always!

    Cheers,
    Steve

this seems simple enough, why not have your previous designer to add glass effect?

Sorry folks! This isn't because I want to keep the design concept ideas to myself, it is just because I want to remain professional. I am glad it seems you are all taking a liking to my artwork. For that, I am honoured.

You can't insists on that for long, you will get lectured very soon by the higher ups. Trust me, I've been there, done that. I just got scolded a few days back for doing the very same thing you are doing today. And I'm giving this advise early to you. ;)

I don't understand what you are implying.

I had sent my design via. P.M, so the client can view the design in the original size, instead of the 50% preview via. my preview template. Because the document is so large, it wouldn't fit on my preview template, neither would it look as effective at 50%.

I want to keep my all my work protected.

    :)

There's just like an unwritten protocol around the forum that states you should post your work in the thread - it's not just me or mitcharr, it's most people wanting it :) Keeps it fair and stuff, ya know?

Oh I understand that preference for designers, but as it is, this is my first P.M submission and I have a valid reason.

it would be fair to post here so we know the design if you are the winner....if everyone would send on pm, then how can we know if the contest holder ain't cheating with this thread so he can get Itrade

Why does it seems I now HAVE to post here to sustain peace within my entry. I will post if I am the winner. I also assure that I do not know Steve Fullman or are familiar with his website.

Cipixxx, steve is a honest contest holder. Offering a contest have a lot of benefits.

    1) Can choose from different concepts.
    2) Reputation and link building
    and more

Scarlet Edition, posting your design here can build up your reputation and maybe you can get paid orders from other webmasters. Anyway, it is up to you.

    Hi again all,

Well, it's obviously been an interesting few hours since I last checked in, and I'd like to address some of the comments raised here.

First off, and I hope this doesn't sound too selfish, but I'm holding a contest here, I didn't start this thread to discuss the do's and don'ts of contest etiquette :)

Thanks for the PM, Scarlet Edition - It's a pretty good first go, and reps added - although it doesn't look as 'glassy' as I was hoping for. I think, to avoid this thread drifting totally off topic, that you should post a low-res version of your entry for the others to see. As DaveyBoy says, it's kind of an unwritten rule.

Thanks, I realise this is a simple enough effect, and that it won't challenge your creativity too much. However, it's my money to spend! And I actually think that making the graphics look realistically like glass is quite tricky. The realism is the design brief in this contest...remember this from the original post:

"I'd like the header & footer graphics to be turned into glass...Shiny, Reflective Glass

    ...So shiny
that you'd be worried about leaving fingerprints if you touched the screen!"

Thanks for your entry as well, warpser, reps added :) Again, it has a glass like effect, but isn't totally convincing yet. Perhaps the graphics need a bevel to make the effect stand out more?

Now for the one which really upset me...

Cipixxx, mate, I can assure you I'm not cheating. This is my 5th contest now in the past month or so.

Here are the other 4 -

    Logo Contest - $30 prize (Winner: Fidel_Castro)

Site Design - $75 prize (Winner: rupertValentino)

Web Page Graphics and Layout - $100 prize, plus free videos for every entrant (Winner: Tropica)

Blog Design - $50 prize (Winner: zinruss)

That's a total of $255 in prize money, given to 4 different and respected designers.

If I wanted iTrader, there are cheaper ways of getting it!

I have always tried to conduct my contests with honesty and integrity, I've always added reps, I've always given feedback, and I've always been a fast payer.

To suggest I may be in cahoots with someone to cheat the other talented people in this board out of 30 bucks is highly insulting.

    ...OK, deep breath. Rant over.

Thanks, Roger! Very nice of you to stick up for me :)

A-L_E-X - Thanks for your entry, reps added! Again, a nice idea, which can be improved by making the graphics look more realistically glass looking.

Sorry this has been such a long post, if you've got this far thanks for reading! I hope to see some more revisions/entries soon!

    All the best,
    Steve

    That's cool,

    I hope i didn't upset you,
I was just wondering if you had asked your previous designer if they could do it. You know, to save yourself some money. But you are right, it's your money. I have no problem with that.
I stick with the person i'm working with till they are happy with it, dunno if others do.
