    Greetings all,

I wonder if anyone has any experience in driving traffic from StumbleUpon. If there are ones, would you share the secrets please?

    TIA

    Stumble works pretty good.

I signed up as advertiser there and I actually bought my traffic from them.

They give you a 1 visitor for about 0.05 cents per visitor and it is all targeted.

Only problem is the visitors from Stumble.com don't stay on the site as much as the other traffic, search engines, direct, etc.

I have had a few people link to me through stumbleupon. It's a great site for people wishing to waste time and if your site is targeted towards people in that "time wasting" category, ie. something to look at while at work, then you'll find some great benefits.

As with the time wasting, the visitors tend to have a short attention span, and leave quickly, however, they do click on ads moreso than regular traffic.

Yes it drives traffics, I use to exchange stubble, they stumble my site and then i will stumble their site. Try also Del.icio.us and Digg

If you do it in proper way it drives lots of traffic to site. but pls do not expect any targeted users or adsense revenue from the stumble traffic.

I received quite a number of traffics from StumbleUpon, but not much of increment in my AdSense earning.

It's great if your site is a) entertaining and b) appeals to general audience.

Buying is a cheaper option than stumble exchanges if you value your time. You get to demographically target visitors with the ad campaign and you get a lasting return on your ad money if the site is popular, since people do write reviews (and some will post links on their blogs if they liked the site).

Target an ad campaign to people who are most likely to like the site and vote/review it. You'll get more free stumbles out of it that way.

    Yes it does bring traffic.

Dosh Dosh has an interesting stumble upon tutorial. Just do a search in Google:
"Dosh Dosh" + Stumbleupon, and you should find it.

i stumbled about 5 of my sites last week, they all received about 100-200 uniques in less than an hour. since then, almost nothing. very weird.

almost 0% of that traffic converted, so by my estimation the traffic was crap. it's always nice to see your stats spike, but no conversions...

had that traffic been targeted, i would have converted a lot and been happy. but, i suppose there's room for everyone on my sites :)

yeah i agree that your probably not going to get much conversion unless you have funny stuff. maybe some jack@ss on a moped jumping (un-successfully) a bunch of cars or something your probably not going to see any real results other than a little traffic spike then nothing like rightandtight said.

its kind of like digg. if you get a digg or two...flood gates. for about two minutes. you really need to be on a topic that the people on the site (digg, stumble) are after. digg is good for a lot of tech stuff for example. your latest cooking recipie may not be huge there.

I have noticed that you get traffic from stumbleupon if it is entertainment related but if your website is webmaster related, forget the traffic.

Ok, thanks everyone for their share of experience. As I've concluded, I might have some good traffic, but it will convert really bad, or won't convert at all. Moreover, my site is not for general public, it's pretty specific -- it is a live help service aimed at site owners that offer some service or product.

So, I think I won't bother with stumbles.

    Again, thanks for your contribution.
