Hubby got me a new laptop for mothers day!! Makes the 26 hours of labor really worth it.. :) Kidding, I love my angel more than words can describe!!!

Anyway, should I still use my desktop for graphics and websites?? Anything I shouldn't do??? I think the processor is almost 2 Gigs... I have a external hard drive so I won't save anything on it....

    Thanks!!!

Sure, you can still use your desktop for website & graphics design. You can try to design with a laptop.. but it'll feel awkward at first (with the touchpad) I know it took a few weeks til I adjusted :D

That's easily solved with a mouse attachment.

But when you're on the plane and wanting to design something, it's hard :p trust me.. I had to use touchpad for that lol.

Designs look just as nice with a touch pad:cool: I haven't used a mouse in a year lol

I wouldn't bother using the touchpad for designing..talking killer carpal tunnel there. I would invest in a sweet full-size keyboard and mouse combo.

I think laptops can never reach the performance of a desktop computer when it comes to 'hardcore labor'.I say go with the desktop computer, laptops are made for mobility.

Designing, may be hard. But as 8everything said, it obviously can be done if you prefure touch pad. Personally, i dislike it and i find it very hard to type on the keyboard compared to a desktop.

Buy yourself a nice little mouse and off you go. Ever since I got my laptop my poor desktop collects dust. The laptop is all I use and it does the trick beautifully.

Enjoy your new toy and baby. :)

I can't design on my touchpad, it just dosent work. I use desktop cause it's nearly twice as fast. My laptop is a sony vaio and has an incredible HD screen which is better than PC by far.

    Drop it.

In all seriousness, a good bag will reward your investment for years to come. Doesn't pay to spring for two-bit junk in that dept.

Make sure to clean out the fan regularly. I haven't cleaned mine out for almost 2 years, so it gets really hot. :D
