You obviously do not know what it is to be human! Remember the unexamined life is not worth living. Try not to judge people on the quality of their questions, but accept that they are examining and questioning at least!

I'm sorry, but telling me to not judge others is BS, especially when they're debating something as stupid as "who goes to Heaven". Everyone is judged to some degree. You would know this if you understood what it is to be human.

Anyways, the chance of Heaven existing is the same as Hades or some other unoriginal religious plane of existance, or in other words astronomically low - one notch away from non existant. Me personally, I'd rather enjoy my life here than spend it walking on egg shells just so I can die believing I'll go to some cloud in the sky where I'll spend eternity with the same callous jackass of a God who starves millions of children every day. That sounds more like Hell actually.

Don't know if this helps but every religion teaches that we should do good to others. In Christianity - the sermon on the mount. Buddha sending benevolent thoughts, teachings of Rabbi Hillel in Judaism, Karma in Hinduism/Buddhism etc etc. There are also many who believe in the Akashic Records too (Do a Wikipedia search!). I teach the pupils at my school (i'm a religious studies teacher) that if they 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you' then it should cover all the bases.

    hmm...
well there is no where in the bible that says if youre 'good enough' youll go to heaven, no one can be good enough. you can only get in to heaven by grace not works. Salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned.

Religion and heaven have little connection, except they both are connected to spirituality. In fact the most followed religion on earth purports to follow Jesus Christ teachings and according to reports in the book Jesus did not care for religion and warned against it.

Wanna go to heaven? Be very cautious with religion.

I find it really funny that... a person can speak circastically about a very very old religion... that today over a billion people of India and many more in other countries follow...

And passing comments based on some isolated incidents...

I suppose... most people dont know that religions including Budhism, Jainism ect... are offshoots (infact subsets) of hinduism...

    I pity your ignorance...

By the way I am agnostic... I beleive in theories of organic evolution... but I also beleive... that there might be some supernatural power that could have creatted the universe... or what ever existed prior to the birth of the universe...

    well quoted... well said...

same here... makes me embarassed too...

Sorry to inform but it does not state the 144,000 are males only. There are women included. Just as there were women included in the pouring out of holy spirit at Pentecost 33CE.

It says it twice in the Bible at Revelation 7:1-4 and Revelation 14:1. They are there to server as kings and priests. To co-rule with Jesus (as king). Meaning, the prophecy in Daniel 2:44 will be fulfilled and for the first time in mankind's history we will have a heavenly government ruling over the entire earth instead of hundred's of earthly governments that have failed to solve mankind's ever growing problems.

I would rather have Jesus in heaven looking after my best interests instead of a politician. Kinda makes sense choosing that way does it not?

    Col :)

Hehehe, I will go one step further by saying that I believe there is no heaven or hell, and that the 144,000 is just to encourage the end of the world, since no one is going to heaven anymore - why not let the world decay? The goals of bringing about revelations are quite clear - and they scare me because if we do end the world nothing will be left. There will be no second revival or anything of the sorts - seeing that if anyone who does evil is forgiven is illogical. Revelations seems more of a text about the fictional ending of the roman empire - a politically inspired document that blasts Rome.

Rather than focus all attention on the petty insignificant thing that is death - just accept it and concern yourself with something more important - focus on the living. The world of the dead is no place for the living after all, and without change, without progress, without human triumph being credited, we will fail as a species and implode.

Saving our species requires a new kind of leadership that is not a government, that is not a theocracy or a theology, what is needed, and has always been needed, is rule by reason and logic. Rule by someone with the desire and the inner fire to bring about a world wide reorganization under better standards. I believe I can and am that person if people eventually do get the idea to support me. Regions will no longer be without work, men will no longer starve or watch their children starve, the education of all mankind will be improved and increased because of the need for smarter humans to build the empire I envision - an empire that will weave itself into the very fabric of space. To save the species and accomplish the goals of our species we need to expand beyond earth, beyond our solar system - that will ensure humanities eternal survival - any views to the contrary are basically suicidal and self destructive.

I envision a world run with electric power generated without the use of coal or with oil, cars that speed along electrified highways at blinding speeds with no fatalities because it is rail based, a space program that doesn't use rocket fuel - but rather can generate the speeds it needs from electric systems. I see a world where deforestation has ended, and food is supplied without harmful pesticides or chemicals - and the oceans no longer contain enough mercury to make 1 out of every 100 children autistic. I see a world of knowledge, a shining beacon of everything humanity could become and evolve to - away from the current state of ape-men and toward a state of being actual men. The end of conflicts the end of war the end of poverty and the end of absolute socialist tyranny in many countries. Free enterprise reigns over all with the capital investments issued, business is smooth and absolute, personal freedoms and equalities are enforced - and all things are no longer color or gender based but skill based.

That is the future I wish to see accomplished - but man's own hand cannot. Man can help get toward it, but science, sheer brilliance in the genome modifications I wish to make, these new beings I will make shall be the ones to completely change the world. Although you will no longer have politics - you won't need to be worried about it. A small price to pay for an absolute future devoid of the badness that surrounds us today. All you really need is a responsible, somewhat crazy but not insane, World Dictator.

    lol & eek.

so, what we have here is a failure to communicate. Heaven is the place where the government will be situated. Earth is the place where we have a new, righteous society. What's the problem with that?

That would be a beautiful fairy tale but unfortunately that is not how things work.

I think the verse Cheap SEO Service is referring to is:

"Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads." Revelation 14:1

Are you saying that when we died before the tribulation begins - that we don't go to heaven? Than where do we go?

Out of the thousands of religions in the world, and all the people that "know" they are right...I just love it how you think you picked the right one.

What religion you are is based on what culture you grew up in. There is no proof of any of them, and they're all equally ridiculous. Sigh..
