Hi guys, you've probably seen this topic a thousand times before but i'm looking for someone to point me in the right direction or maybe provide a few tips on promoting / marketing a gambling website portal. basically the things i've tried so far is paying someone for seo work, which has been completed but it has only been a few weeks so realistically there hasn't been any drastic change yet using adwords and getting a few hits per day from that (but as they don't allow gambling related content it will soon be banned) posting a few articles, submitting to directories and doing the odd link exchange with related websites any ideas on which direction to look to next so i can promote this website more UK Online Casino thanks in advance for any comments
I would work on your SEO, what keywords are you trying to target? I hope you're not concentrating on the keyword gambling, poker etc. Those keywords are good, but try to mix them with another keyword that is also highly searched. You need to find a keyword (that relates to your site) which is searched often and has low competition.. if you want to rank well .
Most casinos don't actually use the internet marketing as their sole method of promoting their casino.. It's a website about casinos/gambling.
thanks for the comments guys much appreciated... correct it is a casino / general gambling related website the seo work i've been working on is targeting a fairly popular keyword but on the other hand has not very much top competition; 'uk online casino' we rank better for that keyword on msn that google or yahoo and on first page of msn for keyword 'online gaming' this, in time will hopefully boost up the rankings when all the seo work eventually kicks in as it has only been optimizated 2 weeks ago any other comments are greatly appreciated
I think you should put more keywords into title tags. Find gambling toplists and gambling directories.
won't more keywords affect the keyword density and keyword cloud for the words i'm trying to target though? how effective exactly is submitting to directories related to gambling? i've read a lot lately about directory submissions and even paid to have the site submitted to 800 directories so i'm just waiting for the results and backlinks of those
Maybe I should put this in a new topic to get proper exposure but I'm kinda in the same boat as you and need to consider a marketing campaign to lead folks to my website. I've got (what I feel is a large) budget for website/company marketing and would love to hear about options. My biggest concern is the 'medium' of the marketing, my research shows that distributed print marketing of a non US licensed gambling operation is illegal. Does anyone know of any other legal loopholes I'll have to jump through. Wes
before thinking about marketing, you should thinking about SEOs your site/page first. it would be like a waste if you didnot optimized your site and straight away to promote or submit your site to search engines. That case your SERPs will not rank very well and nobody can find your site from search engine. in case you dont care about search engine but concern about links popularity, just try to get much relevant back links as you can from a relevant site. may help you get a good target traffic.
thanks for the additional comments folks, in all honesty i'd rather have traffic over pagerank any day so the best possible marketing strategy for maximum traffic would suit me down to the ground rather than quality pagerank and backlinks i know both contribute in the long run but traffic over pr would suit any website imo p.s. the site has been optimized already
I would keep adding fresh, unique content. It really does help in gambling especially, its one way to get ahead of other sites in such a competative market. Good luck
