sorry about that mate, the important thing is not to ignore it, because they just keep piling on the interest. get in contact with the company you owe money too and ask if you can sort out a payment plan because your a student and dont have that sort of money to pay outright.
I feel bad for you but if you knew the contract, maybe it would have been smart to ask in a couple of months, you had to know you were using electricity, right? Next, I don;t think you would win a court action because all he has to say is that he told you about it. Your first post you talked about jumping off a bridge, thinking that is worse than screwing a crooked landlord. I say pay what you think you really used and leave the country with a clear mind. If you ask for proof, I am sure he will be able to show it to you. Count this as one of many lessons you will learn as an adult. Things like this are just bumps in the road, get use to them. well, if you can't pay him, you can't pay him. it's partly his fault for not letting you know on a monthly basis. so on the practical side, what can he do but accept an offer to 'pay what you can now and pay the rest in installments'. i'd go and offer that to him and i believe he'll accept.
