Microsoft is a very big company but it's not king online. That is why they want to buy Yahoo. Yahoo is the number 1 destination online.
P.S. Last thing I heard is that they just want to cooperate with yahoo not buy it.

I think once Vista gets established and has a bigger userbase the inbuilt Live search will have its impact on googles marketshare.

Very unlikely. People know what they want and know how to get it. Microsoft would not try to cooperate with other companies if they thought that live would become popular.

Most people go with whats easiest, there have been many studies conducted. So if they have a Live search in the taskbar they are more likely to use that then open up a internet browser, type in google and then there search term.

Well Firefox just sued Microsoft over it's IE and it seems Microsoft next IE update will remove the tab from it's browser. It seems Microsoft got caught using somebody else code again. Who is going to use IE without Tabs?

Every Windows OS comes with a search in the start button and nobody uses it. Convince does matter but search relevance matters more.

Looks like Yahoo will remain independent for another year or so. There was an in interesting article in the NYT that suggested Yahoo will bought out in a bout a year's time possibly at a cheaper cost becauase the market (stockmarket) is likely to be down somewhat on today's prices, so they yahoo's stock will be lower at the time.

Why do people say Microsoft isn't the king online? almost everyone uses their browser (ie) to even get online. I call that owning.

I dont think yahoo would sell themselves for any amount of money.

Its always been msn and yahoo since i've been online. google is just weird and i dont think its as big as people claim. I rather not even touch anything with googles name on it anymore. They're too creepy.

Windows Live! is going to be awesome when its complete and i think it'll put MS up there on the top.

Did you forget about firefox (Netscape) the browser it's been chipping on ie for a long time. Google is king of search and online advertisement. Have you not seen how big adsense is?

Firefox doesn't have that much of the browser market. IE7 is still gaining. Alot of people don't see the poitn of evne using firefox anymore since IE7 was released. I know alot.

I still use firefox but i wont for much longer if they don't fix the memory leaks or whatever keeps causing it to freeze up and start lagging

IE is still losing shares to firefox. Congrats your ie will no longer use tabs. Next time you update it they will be removed. It seems microsoft forgot that they are patented by mozilla. How come you did no mention adsense?

ie7 has some annoying session cookies in subdirectories issues, this is not very good, about yahoo, I think they are stuck and cannot compete worldwide with google, they should not get bought but at least partner with Krosoft

Microsoft can not buy yahoo. They did not sell enough vistas so they will have to wait for there next OS to buy yahoo.
