    Hi.

I have recently got myself a web server.

I can't think how to make a decent profit from it. I've been in and out of these forums for a while and looking at the web hosting section they are all really really cheap.

I have a good web server complete with Fantastico and cPanel.

Could anybody please advise me on how to make some money back with the server.

    Regards,
    Scott.

Yes, the age old question. It's quite hard anymore to find paying clients that want to be hosted on your servers (at least I know it is for me) so I usually try to hand pick a few clients, ones that I know will get a decent amount of traffic, and thus if they can't pay, they put my Google ads up, and if they can pay, and they grow, then they begin to pay a lot. :) Just remember to give good service and support, know your server and how to manage it, and all will be fine. Good luck. :)

Hosting is a very saturated market

And there are out there many many ofers

    Try something local

Or do like this search for people and ofer them websites + hosting at a good price

You get money olso from hosting olso from the website developed

Thanks guys, I wasn't trying to set up in the web hosting business just yet. I would just like to make a few $ back for the $120 a month that I pay out. I'm not after any 'get rich quick' schemes. I just love designing websites and needed my own server, I just think $120 a month is a bit steep when the return is far lower. :)

Target proxy webmasters. Up until this morning, I would have taken your deal.

lol You're lucky you get to pay so little. My downloads site and my clients for hosting have grown so much over the past 2 years that I now require two powerful dedicated servers and tons of bandwidth, so I end up paying about $900 a month. That's when you know you need to find other means of revenue. ;)

Ouch.. I agree that is harsh!!

Hopefully though I can make a little bit back from this. Like the above said.. proxy hosting could be good. I reckon hosting any proxies with an ad from me and say $5 p/m could be very worth it.... Any views?

Where are you located? I need a host that won't fold with letter talking about legal action :p

Hosting a saturated market indeed !

I would suggest not to go with it. There are lots of offers

If you have invested already then take a look at
