I dont think SEs are advanced in analysing a chinese site as for example an english one. I am not sure about japanese but the chinese language is vastly different from the english language in terms of word use. This in addition to chinese and japanese characters being double byte to add further discrepancies to the algos.
Engines has same rules for all countries!! If your site is on top for Aus it will be on top at US or India.
I agree with you,..but what alexei point in this thread is the same effective result if the text and content in other languages (chinese, japanese, arabic, etc)... IMHO, I believe you should target the alternative keywords for the website in English, and produce your content in English also to make it more 'readable' by the crawler. Cheers,
The algorithm will be same but I dont think they are very advanced in checking the relevance of content and other factors...
yes the process and algorythm are the same. what different are the local interest and the language focus. make sure you know what your target visitor are looking for or what's the keywords they are using.
SEs are way advanced in English and few other popular languages. Even though algorithm is the same, SEs can not recognize many languages in Chinese or Japanese. They can not recognize which is Chinese and Japanese either when you use Chinese characters to search.
if for chinese site,you must think about baidu.com(around 70% market share in china) ,baidu.com 's algo is different from google,yahoo.
yeah in china there is Baidu.com that can search in both Chinese and English. their main target is chinese people and chinese website so the search result are much better than google.com.cn yeah they use different algo and i think their algo even better than google in term of search result. XD
