I know 18 "deleted & free" European ccTLDs which have a total of 14,000 traffic/ day. I got the traffic estimate from Alexa.com

So AdSense earning for these domains :

    14,000 x (CTR = 5%) x (CPC = 15 cents/ click) = 105 bucks/ day.

So a website with AdSense earnings is usually sold at it's 3-years earnings.

Which is for these domains : 114,975 bucks.

    Am I correct ?

Do I really get this price ?

I haven't seen anyone who sells with 3year's income. It's more likely 8-18month's and you have to show those earnings first... But if you know sites like that why wouldn't you build those for yourself ?

As they are European ccTLDs, they cost a lot to register them. So I need to sell them to a buyer who can make large profits from the traffic and has good budget.

I agree, 3 years is not very likely. I've seen anywhere from 4 to 18 months of profit. You can buy brick and mortar stores for 3x net, but web properties are usually more volatile, and hence sell for less of a multiple.

pray, tell me, how do you get *visitor* count by using Alexa? Multiplying reach by total number of net users? Or what?

Fare lower, use CTR of 1% as conservative estimate. 14,000 x 1% x 15 cents = $21/day. It means yearly income of ~$7500, and you can sell them for it if they really get 14,000 visitors per day.

Yes, multiplying REACH with the total number of Internet users (= 1,114,274,426).

If you create the best AdSense template, then you can get 5% CTR very easily.

Right now I got more deleted domains with a total of 25,000 visitors/ day.

Alexa's numbers by it's very nature are very skewed. I have a website that is computer related, and by your "approximations" I should be getting about 100,000 visitors a day. Yet, I'm only at 500 a day. Do you have other websites that you feel Alexa captures accurately?

Well, not very accurate, because I doubt that any of the multitude of chinese or indian users (or heck, even american), ever visit them, but can be used as estimate ot thumb.

But consider that it is the type-in traffic, and its CTR is inherently lower.

Anyways, using its uneven traffic, I'd not pay even $1000 for each one. If you'd register them, install AdSense, get any statistics and then sell --- of course, right price will be paid.

Hehe. Alright, let's use your calc.
1,114,274,426 was the number to be multiplicated with the daily reach, which at my site according to alexa should be 0.00085%.

That would make 1,114,274,426 * 0.00085 = 947 133 visitors if I did not miscalculate. I really hope I did, because it is so got damn wrong.

The right number should be about 35 visitors / day, which makes alexas count to be about 27 000 times more then the actual figure..

The problem you don't see is that I have a computer science and web-master related site and my users have a much higher % of alexa toolbar-users and that would make my alexa-count very irrelevant.

If you want to use alexa-stats, use them for HUGE sites, not medium to small. It will get VERY VERY VERY inaccurate!

    Alexa is crap.

Anyone who uses Alexa to value anything is wasting their time.

GOOD domains can easily sell for 3+ years revenue. Some type-in .com names are selling for 8-10 years times revenue.

I would even sy people will pay for only 6-12 months revenue not longer than that. since it take too long to get the cost back and earn profit.

never saw adsense sites can sell for 3-years estimated earnings. usually 6 months. in rare situation, 12 months. and the seller needs provide very solid proof for traffic and earnings.

You did your math wrong, it is .00085% therefore you have to multiply by 0.0000085... Remember the percent sign increases it by 2 decimal points in math. Like 80% = 0.80, 8% = 0.08 and so on.

you can not just price your site from the no. of visitor alone. there are many cases that got high traffic but low or no revenue. if you want to sell you need to show your current revenue not estimated revenue and the price range should be around 6-12 months revenue.

even use that no. it still will be 9471 visitor/day that's still too high. ^^
