You don't have to but you will get a terrible quality score and end up paying a minimum $10 per click. Try it out. See for yourself.
no you don't HAVE to, but i would recommend it. they offer several benefits 1. Pre-selling - alot of offers need a little pre-selling before someone will complete it 2. Quality Score - self explained. 3. Control Conversions - when you are in control of your landing page you can have a direct effect on the conversion rate, rather than passively getting conversions based off advertisers page. 4. Stats - these are a biggie, nuff said. 5. Expansion - if you do considerable volume some offers allow you to make landing pages that enclose reg./sale/leadgen process without a visitor ever leaving your page.
I have made money with PPC using no landing page. BUT I have made more with a landing page. Just like everyone else, it will increase your quality score greatly! The only downfall is you will end up paying alot of money to have a unique one designed for you. What I recc. is using an HTML email creative and editing it that way so that: 1. you don't have to host much at all, your affiliate company does most of the images 2. its free .info domains are like .99 cents now and look around these boards you can get super cheap hosting! I would check out greenlush.com, he had a special running for DP members for like 85% off so it turned out to be like $0.34/mo. Unless your spending 10K monthly on PPC search engines on 1 landing page, you don't need alot of bandwith, so hosting will come cheap!
Ok.... according to the adwords editorial guidelines... Framing: Ads for webpages that replicate the look and feel of a parent site. I hope your site isn't going after that idea. lol just read my whole rant on about how Adwords keep Pissing me off!
Probably. As I have made money from directing traffic directly to the offer on several occasions I felt the need to highlight this in order to give the thread a more balanced opinion. It all comes down to a large variety of factors, so the best way to find out about the necessity of a landing page is to try your luck and see whether Google sheds some love or hate onto you.
What's considered a decent quality score? What specifically are the factors in its determination? I have never had anything higher than 3 out of 5.
I say it really depends on the offer and the keywords you target. If you're promoting dating and targetting general keywords, well then you'd want to split the offers up into "asian dating", "american singles", "african american" etc. If you're promoting BlackSingles dating, and bidding on specific black singles keywords you can get away with a redirect. With ringtones you pretty much have to split up your offers by carrier, but I think DaDa supports all carriers so you might get away with redirecting to DaDa. Quality score wise... Adwords, eh.. I think it's more domain trust and account history than anything... You shouldn't have much trouble in YSM and AdCenter.
Fair enough. We definitely need another voice. But I can't imagine not being able to see, quantify, test, heatmap, and tweak my landing pages. Eek!
Just think if you were the customer, I know it's hard for some of us... But be the customer, what would you look for.
