I've noticed this kind of behavior around this forum before and I have to be honest, I don't see the point to it and while it's usually complimenting, I don't think it's at all necessary, particularly when a contest has yet to be decided.

Wow. This is the quality folks are getting for $30 around here? I'm impressed. I'd generally pay $200 for nice logos like that. And by 'I'd generally pay' I mean 'I used to pay'.

I'd imagine it's because Mirror started the thread. That could have something to do with it although I'm not sure
