Wow. Paranoid much? Us and Them to the extreme. No my friend, the battle is no longer just The christians and the Muslims as it has been for the last 2000 years. (with the Jews in between). Now, in this age of reason and instant communication, Atheism is rearing itself as the only logical option. Your beliefs are fanciful storytales, just as the beliefs of the muslims, and the beliefs of the Jews. The Biblical God does not exist. Nor does Allah. Welcome back to reality....
WOW. Some people really use every possibility to jump on the muslims What does this discussion have to do with muslims ? Stay on topic.
Nope, not paranoid, just the quotes you refered to and out of context are on some muslim site and we have had many muslims come through the forum using the same info. So I assumed you are just the next to come and go trying to bash the Bible and Christianity through ignorance. Yes login, on topic, if you understand what I wrote here.
Hmm, I expected a reply by now. Let me help you out with this "out of context" and "ignorant" theory of yours. here is the beginning of Leviticus 11: 11:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them, 11:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. 11:3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat. 11:4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. 11:5 And the coney, because he cheweth the cud , but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. 11:6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud , but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. 11:7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. So, how is the understanding that God says that Hares and Coney's chew the Cud out of context? I have plenty more to get through here, so please, correct my misunderstanding here. Help me move through my ignorance.
I must say, I have never seen such strong anti-islamic hate anywhere so strongly as I have seen it in these forums. Which is weird, because polls indicate that Atheists are in fact discriminated against far worse than any other religious belief or social minority
But its very few christian people here that are really aggressive, you have a few, two or three twisted brains that are posting all the time. Thats it, they give a wrong picture of the nice community that are here at DP.
Of course. It is always just a few vocal people who do that sort of thing, but what has surprised me more than anything, is the lack of criticism of what is said by these minorities. It makes them seem all the more 'majority'-esque. i have participated in a number of threads highlighting the hypocrisy in their actions as well as just generally critiquing the inconsistencies in Christianity in general, and this thread is the first instance I have seen of any support. I was starting to think I was the only Atheist on these forums. Was this question too hard?
Noah's ark was even found. Look here: http://thetruereligion.org/modules/wfsection/article.php?articleid=94 As far as the water is concerned, it could have from the Heavens or from the core because the surface water could not have been enough. And it could have gone back where it came from.
"Salih Bayraktutan, head of geology at Turkey's Ataturk University, estimates the age of the 'vessel' at more than 100,000 years." So basically, they have images of an object, km below the surface, which seems to be manmade, and seems to be of the scale of the boat described in the bible....therfore they have found THE noahs ark. yeah right. Don't mind me if I just wait to see how this one pans out.
Is it? Did you even read the article, or did you apply your usual "No Follow" attitude to links, and not bother reading what it said? And if you did read the article, do you even know how it was estimated? Or are you just assuming you know more about the field than the professional. As usual. I'm really tired of the ignorant using their ignorance as an excuse to sound superior to the professionals. It is tiring. You have no basis for saying that their estimate is bad other than the fact that you believe a few lines out of one book is literal. You also happen to believe many other lines out of that same book aren't literal, yet you have given no difinitive methodology for determining how that literal/non-literal interpretation is applied. Please tell me how you can trust a book which says, in effect: God is real, god knows everything, God says "Hares and rabbits chew the Cud". Yet reality shows us that they do not. Please explain that one thing to me.
In this statement of mine did I mention anything about a book? No. Therefore, there YOU are making an ASS out of U and ME yet again. Which spells ASSUME. I take it you do know how to spell, even though I have seen many spelling errors in your posts (don't believe me? Go check, you have an average of 2.8 per post ). You have a nasty habit of jumping to conclusions my friend. Simmer down. Ask some relevant questions without accusing someone of being a dimwit, whilst not acting like a dimwit yourself. If you can do this, then I will most certainly be amused. Stop attempting to read between the lines (especially when there is nothing to read). YOUR problem is you don't know ME from a bar of soap, and no online medium is a place to unearth anyone's true identity no matter how hard you look. I don't mind you making statements about things. However, making statements about other people online is by far the stupidest thing a man can do. Blazes, even I have done this myself......LOL Give up on it. Drink some more tea. Put some whiskey in it even. Slap your face a couple of times to wake up a bit. WE GET YOUR POINT. Move on. Col
I'm glad you get my point, but why do you consistently ignore my questions? You make assertions "Seems to be a "bad" estimation for how old this find is" and you never back them up. Maybe I was taking a joke on your behalf way too seriously, but that is my right to be serious about this topic. Yes I did assume that your comment came from the Bible. It is a logical assumption. We're talking about the Bible, you find information which goes contrary to what you believe, and you mock that information (You dare not challenge it directly, you only ever make fun of the facts. It leaves you less accountable for any errors). Sure, I don't know anything about you. But I don't need to, and I don't really care to at this point. Don't take that out of context, I am sure you are a great guy and I don't want to offend you as a person, but as an intellectual discussion, the person making the points is 100% irrelevant. All I know about you, is that you make assertions about truth and knowledge and those assertions are never backed up, and when follow through is requested, you mock the request and tell the person seeking evidence to chill. Well, great. Good for you. You're the cool calm relaxed chill-master. Great. If you don't care to actually participate in a discussion which is attempting to establish some form of basis for truth, then I suggest you keep your fact-mocking jokes to yourself. If not, then I will continue to assume things about your intentions (for lack of any actual material to work with on your behalf, I am forced to assume) and attempt to explain why your intentions and efforts are bogus. I'm not here so that people 'Get my point'. I'm here so that people agree with me, or convince me that I am wrong. It isn't difficult, but no one is ever willing to actually participate here. (PS. Not one spelling error in that post. Firefox spell checks as I type. IE doesn't though, and I don't think typos really count as spelling errors.)
I can't believe he's still going on about this. Okay so God had them gather up all kinds of food as well. It's be awhile since I've reviewed. And God couldn't make sure it lasted the whole time because... As I've pointed out before, Jesus fed 5000 with a bit of bread and some fish. And you still have yet to figure out that you can't take God out of the flood to argue against it. That's why you started with the ignorant premis that Noah had to gather all the animals. Even though it was pointed out previously to you that God gathered the animals. So why did you insist on your ignorant premis? And why do you keep going on about food supplies? And now you're going on about what animals "chew the cud" http://www.tektonics.org/af/cudchewers.html Seriously. You act like you've come across something new. Here's the cheat sheet: 1) go to www.google.com 2) type in "bible chew the cud" 3) click on "search" 4) educate yourself 5) come back here and try again Naw he's just whiney. He wants to bash bash bash and when someone points out he's being stupid he cries like a little baby. Reminds me of Cartman when he was itching for a fight and then stan (or kyle) punches him and he starts crying. Typical bully.
Fine, god miracled it all. I wont waste my time arguing against that, it is not something worth discussing. Even though I have said several times that I am arguing against people who think that the flood story was possible without miracles. So get your nose back in joint, stop harassing me for your own retarded assumptions about what I am saying, and accept that some people actually think the flood happened, and it didn't require God to miraculously get all of the animals onto one spot on earth, didn't require god to miraculously fit them all in a boat, didn't require god to miraculously help Noah build the bit, didn't require god to feed them all, water them all and care for them all for a year, didn't require god to miraculously spread the animals back out all over the earth, didn't require god to miraculously re-create all of the vegetation on earth. If you want to believe God miraculously assisted in everything then fine. I won't waste my time arguing that. And in fact it is the only justifiable position that a christian can take with this nonsense story. Of course there had to be "Magic" involved, and that is essentially my point: The story, as described, is impossible. So it is necessary to admit that the whole thing was miraculous, or didn't happen. Get it yet? Or do I have to beat you over the head with it again? I don't know why YOU brought this up in the first place, or why YOU keep mentioning it, but I have never mentioned the need for Noah to round up all of the animals. I questioned how the Koala got from Australia to Israel, but it seems obvious that that is a problem beyond the scope of one man in ancient times, so I never even thought that Noah did it. And that was long before I even started this thread. Yet you continue to mock me over this point, which I don't talk about, which seems to be stuck in your somewhat manic-brain. Move on. ROFL. You telling me to educate myself. Thats great. Hahahhahaha. Ahhhh. I have to admit, I didn't google that one topic, which is pretty rare, I'm usually the first to google questions myself, but seriously, this is one hell of a good point against the bible, even if Christians can find a way to work out of it. Once again, "Oh....thats not what it *really* means." Well GOD FORBID the bible might ever say what it actually means. Someone might mistakenly understand it! Who knows what would happen then! Yep, attempted intellectual discourse. What Christians call 'bashing'. I guess when you lack intellectual function, it must seem offensive.... sort of like dancing in front of a paraplegic person. In my defense though, I was posting here first, and you chose to come and 'join in'.
Why are you still talking? There's no shortage of sites that discuss the logistics of the flood from a Biblical perspective. Come back when you have a question about those explainations.
