Some newbie question on Domain

hey as im newbie on domain world.can anyone tell me, what time domain name exactly drop?
like i want to register a domain and it says domain will expired on may 11th.
so what time i can expect it to expired, caz i want to register it first.
pls tell me EST time. thanks

one more question, if i backdoor a domain, i have pay like $19.99 or soemthing.
if i dont get the domain, do they still keep that fee $19.99?

Pacific is 3 hours behind Eastern time. So that would be 2pm and 5pm ET.

Assuming this is .com, 2PM EST on the dot. If you've made a backorder thru
any of those providers (especially if SnapNames, Club Drop, or Pool), read all
their policies and ask them questions.
