Duplicate articles on mutiple blogs - good or bad idea?

I see many posts on the link sales forum for people who have 50-200 blogs and offer to post an article with your links in it on all of their blogs. This would be a duplicate article on each of these 50-200 blogs with a link to your website. Is this a way to build a good amount of links back to your site or is this a way to get flagged for spamming since the articles would all be the same? I dont want to make a serious mistake and order one of these mutiple blog posts if its not a good idea. Thanks for your opinions on this.

So does that mean the link won't count as a link to your website?

avoid duplicate content - well the exact same thing - change it up a little bit - it doesnt always look good, if ur gonna order multiple blog posts - just ask for unique content on each - i always offer that but duplicate is just bad lol

I don't think links like this will hurt you, but they may not help a lot either. (esp. if the links come from supp. pages)

keep in mind, major news sites have a lot of incoming links from duplicate sources (syndicated articles, rss feeds, etc.) and seem to do ok....

Not a good idea... Google detect multiple post and put them in supplemental results..... Change contents different from each other... Unique one...:D

I think it a bad statement. You can check a free article directories with a lots of aticles that are duplicate each other and most of those directories not at the supplemental index.

These links will not hurt a site at the worst case.. but they would not help either ;)
