I have seen countless threads at DP and various other forums where people want to implement some thing new on their site but are afraid if they don’t do it properly, google might punish them. And because of this many just keep sitting on the old design or content or come asking for opinions from others on how they should proceed.

Do you feel this way when ever you have to add some thing new to your existing sites or are in the process of starting a new one?

Do you feel you are back in school and your every move is being observed by a big bully who might pounce on you if you fail to please him?

I think there's an increasing tendency for Google to interfere in the affairs of webmasters under the arrogant assumption they own the web.

Yes, even the simplest css menu that i liked, i had to changed to a pure text menu to make sure it will pass PR to inner pages. The thing is i am not even sure was it the css menu to blamed for, or something else. Be afraided of everythings for nothing.

It wouldn't be so bad if webmaster just refused to cater to Google. The thing is, Google became number one because webmasters started to conform to their requirments. If all webmasters flipped Google the bird and did what they wanted, things would change.

The downside is that most of them would lose money, so most wouldn't do it.

This is what has got me thinking, in a way google is dictating how we should design and run our sites.

Hey if can't beat them then love them :D LMAO

They are your friend when they pay, enemy when they scold, in between when they change something, and down right assholes when they ban you.
Oh my god! I feel like a teenager dealing with my parents. LOL

I don't think Google is bullying me as such. Google isn't exactly the most caring and loving company on the web, but it's not too bad.

I don't really feel bullied by them (yet)...but I do feel some increasing pressure when determining if I want to do certain things with MY site...

no, not at all. Google is my friend, I trust them, and they help me become a better person. They would never do anything to hurt me and I don't know about you, but I send them a Christmas card each year with the Family portrait on the front.

    :D I heart Google :D

It's not actually getting bullied. I think it's more of "manipulating" webmasters to where they want them to be.

Before I thought if I just had good content, even with poor SEO techniques, that I would be okay (which I should be)

Now though, seeing that good content doesn't matter without good SEO, I gave in and became bullied by Google lol
