He was ruddy awful mate lol!

I have a feeling the same fate will befall our fat Scottish friend too.

I'm pretty p*ssed off TBH mate because I thought there would at least be a leadership contest, I put £50 on John Reid last year at odds of 10-1

I've already said goodbye to that money. :(

Reid would have been perfect, a complete hawkish warmongering lunatic in the Bush/Rumsfeld/Cheney mould.

Looks like chubby is going straight in unopposed tho m8.

I'm pretty angry about him taking over the reins with no mandate from the people or the party.

You'd have hoped that someone from within the party would have the balls to challenge him. I guess we're just seeing a continuation of Blair's spineless cabinet.

Well it all makes sense mate when you think about it, both are Bilderbergers so it was only natural that he would go in unopposed, my mistake was thinking (like you) that someone would have the balls to oppose him, but nobody seems to care anymore.

A sad reflection of just how bad it has gotten.

Another thing that will come back to haunt Brown is some extremely poor decisions that he made in his early days as chancellor that are only just starting to come to light around now.

Yep, there's going to be a LOT of bitter people that are starting to find out they'll have to work into their 70's. I can't see many are going to forgive him for that no matter how he performs.

It's a bit of sad judgement on a man when the best thing he's remembered for was to give away control of something to someone else ;)

Well if you could find a Church in UK hidden somewhere at the back of all the mosques, you would go to the Church to pray that Brown dropped dead before he got into No10

Sarkozy first, now Brown imminent its frightening

Fat chance of that happening (if you'll pardon the pun. :D)

Looks like we'll be stuck with him, at least until the next general election.

When Brown comes to power, he may decide to pull out of IRAQ.

For BUSH, days of STEAD FASTNESS, HILL BILLY TALK OF "WE WILL SMOKE THEM OUT", WILL COME TO THIS:

Whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time.

    1. IRAQ PARLIAMENT WILL GO 2 MONTHS FOR RECESS.
    2. SUNNIS WILL PULL OUT OF COALITION, THEY WANT TO HAVE OIL REVENUES FROM KURDS AND SHIAS.
    3. TRY TO GET FUNDING FOR IRAQ WAR WITH SHOW OF WHAT PROGRESS.

WHEN YOU ARE NOT A SELF MADE MAN, YOU OWE LOT OF PEOPLE LOT OF THINGS. YOU BECOME MAN WITHOUT PRINCIPLE OR FAKESTER.

That is not a possibility as the decision for that to happen cannot be made by the UK Government unilaterally.

A decision to pull out is solely dependent on when USA decide enough is enough, then and only then will Brown be able to follow with a pull out from Iraq

The BBC put Attlee above Churchill.

That alone should tell you to toss the list into the trash.

That's bloody hilarious, as it's the exact opposite of the criticism which GWB has been taking from the leftards since 2001.

Up until now, they have been saying "Don't go it alone. Don't make decisions. Group think. Don't do anything without approval from France, Germany, Russian, China, and Hollywood."
You are 100% diametrically opposed to the truth. GWB is where he is today, for good or for ill, because he has followed his core principles in spite of all opposition.

I don't do the rehashes of peoples posts and adding my own to it, like GT does when he quotes me then changes the words but I do believe you meant to say this Will:

Father of democ-racy (Bush :D ) approval rate is now at 28%. Just 01 point above all time record. I am sure he will win the record sooner. :p

And you know what? Bush doesn't care. He's the kind of fellow who does what is right, not what happens to be fashionable at the current time.

I suppose that following the "in crowd" makes sense... when you're in Secondary School.

Im sad to see him go, i think he was one of the more honest politicians. The war on Iraq was deserved and he made the right choices with that, but for people who disagree that still shouldn't cloud the fact that he still achieved a lot throughout his career, and even though i was young when he was elected i can see a difference living in London now then before he was PM.
The majority of people who complain are in poverty, and to be honest those people will always be in poverty no matter who is PM, the only time they won't be is when they get out and work instead of bitching about the government.
Id rather Blair stay on than Brown take over, but id rather Brown take over than the Conservatives.

It depends what you're comparing. Churchill was a wartime leader, Attlee pulled the country up after it was almost destroyed by it.

In the process he, created the welfare state, providing free healthcare, education, pensions, unemployment benefit, maternity, childcare and widows allowances ensuring people didn't fall below the poverty line. All of this in a country in massive debt. The majority of this system is still in place today.

Personally I'd put Churchill as Britains best PM, but Blair shouldn't be spoken about in the same breath as either of them.
