According to IPv4 Address Report we are running out of IP adresses. On this report it's stated that IP deficiency will occur by August 20th 2012. As a result some brokers will be able to buy some mass IP adresses and then others will buy through those brokers and it may come up this issue being most discussed in these years.
IPv6 has been around and implemented into OS kernels for years now. Once all IPv4 IP addresses are gone IPv6 will take care of the need for new IP addresses
well, IPv6 should be implemented then =) but the problem is will they implement it till the deadline?
As I stated already. IPv6 is has been implemented into NIX type operating systems for years now and Windows Vista supports it as well.
We will be ip address short oh thats somethn to worry but how come all 12 digit numbers get over so fast
So fast? By the time IPv4 is obsolete the net will have been around what 25 years or so? I wouldn't say that was FAST Like I have been saying unix / linux based os's have had IPv6 implemented into their kernel's for years. This includes the majority of routers and switches out there.
this whole thing is so confusing! i guess you are talking about the class A ip address, end of the world
With IPv6 we will never face a lack of IP's. If years and years for now the 6 block IP addresses ie. 123.123.123.123.123.123 run out then I have no doubt something like IPv8 would come around
My networking tutor mentioned this last year, anyway hes say theres nothing to worry about due to IPv6
