My site hasn't been crawled by Google for over nearly two weeks now - previously it was crawled every 5 days or so. Anyway - I have noticed that any new and recent content is still appearing in the Google search results. Am I mis-understanding something, as I thought that the Googlebot had to crawl the page so that it could be indexed. And that it needed to be indexed before the pages could appear on the search results? Or is it quite normal to have content appear on Google results that hasn't been indexed?
It happens. For instance if the page is linked to on a page that is recently indexed. If you get crawled every two weeks, that's not bad, not bad at all.
Thanks for the reply. That would explain in then - as most of the new content is linked elsewhere. As for the crawling - it has been two weeks since the last crawl, no idea if the googlebot will come back as my PR dropped to 0. Though from what I understand that has no effect on whether or not a site gets crawled?
yeah bot crawl to your site got nothing to do with PR but it matters to SERPs. if you would like the bot to crawl more often. try to get more backlinks from High PR sites. coz bot will crawl those site more often and it will come to your site too. My site got pr3 and some amount of links and bot come to my site almost everyday. ^^
google is not updating that tab on webmaster tools. i have pr 6 web site. it is being crawl every day but G shows it 2 days or 3 days later
maybe sitemaps to google webmaster - its a mystery lol - because i used to get crawled every five minutes and get one page indexed a month - well no change at all but now its like goes up and down a few thousand every day.
