I thought the Babylonians were the first to contribute sciences and technologies that are currently recorded... it's not like the wheel was invented in the 400-600 AD time period. Oh wait, Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Aryans (the real ones out of India), and Nubians, along with the Babylonians had technological research going on constantly until monotheistic religion came along. But that doesn't matter - right?
COINCIDENCES? I just can't help laughing when people say that! Anyway, lets not talk about all of them. Just tell me that are the mentioning of "The Big Bang" and the "Expansion of The Universe" also coincidences? P.S. God will ask you these questions when you die.
Well, what happens if those were mentioned before the concept of a monotheistic god was adopted? What if those were mentioned more than six thousand years ago in Babylon? What if Sitchin is correct about the origin of man? Come to think of it - Sitchin's solution and evidence is by far more compelling than anything else I have read of any religion - and I have read plenty. Look it up.
The expansion of the Universe and the Big Bang were proved absolute no later than the 20th century. But anyway, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was not at all educated. How would he know that it all was so IF AT ALL the Babylons had a Hubble Telescope? Do you know that the first FIVE revealed verses of the Quran of Surah Iqra are scientific miracles too? That even removes the possibility that someone else told him!
As I said, perhaps you should read Sitchin. He's found evidence than ancient man, much further back than the religions that exist today, knew about space at a detail we think could have never possibly been. Such as all the planets as far back as Pluto. In addition Bhartrihari beat Muhammed to the Big Bang by a few decades. He died in 510 - whilst Muhammed was born in 570. If anything he probably knew of Bhartrihari's writings and used them. http://www.experiencefestival.com/a/Big_Bang_Theory/id/221124 Yay India.
How did Muhmammad (PBUH) know that? He wasn't educated! He spent all his time meditating in a cave! But even if, for arguments sake I agree with you that somehow a man came running from there to tell him, what do you have to say about the Expansion of the Universe?
My friend, you should really have a look at this library of "coincidences". Also keep in mind that God will ask you about EACH and EVERY ONE of these as soon as you die.
I have more questions for him than he has for me should he exist. The big bang is the expansion theory itself - for an explosion is an expansion. Even the Chinese had read and knew of Bhartrihari by Mohammed's time, plus India isn't that far from the middle east, nor is it that far from China. Travelers could spread ideas and words within a decade, plenty of time for everyone to have heard of it.
53- And has sent down water from the sky. With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants. 20-Ta-He, 53 3- ...And fruit of every kind He made in pairs two and two. 13-The Thunder, 3 This one tells us about the dual (sex) nature of flowers in plants. Was it found out by some botanist of that time too?
I would say it was well known by the time of the Egyptian Empire. Farming was one of the first great tools of our human race, agriculture would not be possible without some understanding of how pollination worked. In fact George Sarton wrote an article about the knowledge of this that had been used in about 800 BC in Egypt. Isis, Vol. 21, No. 1 (Apr., 1934), pp. 8-13
I am a Muslim (Happy to be called Kafer now), and I have spent years studying this very scientific claims that you are now talking about. Up until recently I believed in them to be the ultimate truth that the Quran is from god. However I was disappointed to discover that there is nothing miraculous about the Quran, the scientific claims are nothing but common knowledge at the time of the prophet in that region. Remember that Mohammed was a business traveler who reached many civilized places such as Syria. He was also close friend of his relative Waraqa Ibn Nawfal who was highly educated and even translated the bible into Arabic. Also Mohammed was taught the torah by Arab Jewish rabbis, and Jewish influence is very much apparent in Islam. The prophet might have been illiterate but was no stupid, he was actually a genius, a man with charisma and overall a military general and a statesman. All those qualities enabled him to pursue his goal of establishing a new order in the region.
So are you saying that when he was sent the koran he actually lied to everybody and just pretended a divine voice spoke to him and sent him all these messages? and what for? what was his purpose? what did he gain? was he a rich man? i belive he lived in poverty? usually poeple who want to gain power to it in order to become rich and powerful? but was he?I have heard so many times poeple saying that he wanted to invite a new religion but may be it was the same with Jesus?
So we have a man who did nothing until the age of 40 except be known for his truthfulness who then decided he had a long term plan of gaining control. this plan caused him insult and trouble in the first 10 years of his prophethood as the Meccans abused him and eventually threw him out of his town. His beloved wife, Khadeeja , died while the muslims were living in the desert and had nothing. Was this a long term plan ? when he eventually walked into Mecca and the meccans allowed it .. he did not live a luxiourious life.. he was hassled so much that the Quran came to say that people should stop shouting to him while he was in his house. He lost his two front teeth because he insisted that he fought with his fellow muslims. If he was not a prophet but a genius then what earthly reward did he gain? His children were persecuted after he died. He wore the simplest clothes , he ate the simplest food and the hadith show he had a tough time of it with us horrible normal human beings who are so picky . it was said at the time of the prophet that a Christian taught him a lot of the previous prophet references But then why is Quran not exactly like the bilble why the differences? .
Jesus was a little crazier ... he did not state he had a new religion ... he claimed to be the creator of Earth, the universe and everything in it.
you're telling me to get evidence?? LMFAO!!! You are the one that believes a man that married a 9 yr. old girl!!! He was a pedophile, and all this scientific "proof" as you so claim is crap...its so easy to look back and say "thats what God meant"...Christians do it with the OT all the time, but without forknowledge, we can't say that. In as much as this dr. of yours looks back on the koran, we can also look back throughout the worlds history and find coincidences or other similarities. They exist all around us, not just in the koran. it doesn't make my thoughts about the past any more correct than this dr. friend of yours. as I said before, its all crap, the koran doesn't prove anything except that mohammed was never originally a prophet, but instead a pedophile who just wanted some friends.
I am getting a bit tired of the Islam related threads. They are all basically the same contextually... Some person proclaiming "ISLAM IS REAL! ALLAH IS REAL! HERE'S WHY!!!" and to my surprise (*sarcasm*) I never find any evidence to the claimed statement(s). It's funny that a religion created literally hundreds of years after christianity could be considered legitimate. Many of the concepts and ideas are strikingly similar to christianity as well. That's like me creating a web development / internet entreprenuership forum called "Digital Place" and ripping off the layout, some of the posts, and logo from Digital Point... then simply because I called myself a better developer (or prophet...) that my forums where better... How can a religion that places religious significance on a rock (likely a metoer or Wabar Pearl) be considered legitimate? How can a popluation that follows a merciful religion, treat women with such brutality? How can this religion be considered peaceful when it advocates the alienation of non-believers, and even killing or abusing them? How can you follow a religion where the prophet thinks the earth is flat and the sun moves around the earth? How can you follow a religion where the prophet had sex with a 9-year old girl at the age of 53? How can it be said that Mohammed was a loving and compassionate man yet he killed, robbed and sadisticly tortured people. ie: a man was murdered for making fun of Mohammed in poetry. Also, Mohammed tortured and punished some by chopping of their arms and legs, burning out their eyeballs and killing them slowly in the harsh elements of the desert. In my opinion, Islam is one of the stupidest and most irrational bits of human culture ever created. The religion was simply created to promote the ideas of (and benefit) Mohammed. On another note, tell your precious Allah to work a miracle on that crappy website design.
@Louis11, You lack in knowledge about Islam. A lot! Also about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Try to know more.
Waraqa Ibn Naufal was the one who testified that Muhammad (PBUH) was the final Prophet. So what do you want to prove?
