SCAMMER HERE ON DIGITALPOINT -- Do not deal with "Jelf"

Pardon the capslock.

First of all, I made a web layout for Jelf last week, all went well and he paid me in full. Then Sunday he asked me to have a logo and banner made for him ASAP, preferably before Monday night. So I abliged and worked for a couple hours, quoting a price of around $20. He wanted a bit more work than I thought, so I did it but charged an extra $5 for my efforts.

I'm typing this to inform you that the logo seen on http://topgamez.net/ was created by me Sunday May 6, 2007 at around 8:30PM. In addition to the logo i also created an advertising banner for topgamez. I was in contact with Mr 'Jelf' today, wondering what happened (I emailed the files Sunday night, because i trusted Jelf from the previous transaction) and he said that he never received any files and that I should resend them. I told him something was fishy and that I refused to send anything until my $25 invoice was fulfilled. He then questioned my pricing and whined that it didn't take very long to create. I told him that I wanted my money because I had proof that he had in fact received the files (see the logo on http://topgamez.net/).

He then stopped talking and I had a meeting so I had to run out of the house, discontinuing the conversation. So now I'm out $25 and 2 hours, and I'm wondering what my next step should be.

I'm sorry for the wall of text but I thought DP should know of a scammer on their site. I recommend no dealings with this man until this is straightened out.

If you have any ideas for what to do next, let me know. Thanks.

PS) if you'd like some sort of proof let me know what you need. I have an email in my sent box with the files, and also the PSD for the logo, as well as a 1500 pixel wide version of it.

 

The same thing happened for me with Levski_Sofia I made the forum header of http://www.pro-football.eu/forum/ he promised to pay me 50USD for the work,but finally he did not pay after getting the JPEG file from me.Now he is banned from the forum.I still dont know why he is banned from the forum

 

Went to look at topgamez.net to see what the logo looked like and it's offline.

 

topgamez.net is up for me, with my logo still on it. :/

 

and you have give him minus on itrader? i can not see anything

 

it was not via a thread therefor I can't submit negative iTrader.

Looked up the info for topgamez.net, and emailed the owner, explaining the situation. Hopefully he can help.

Wow this is extremely dismaying. I made this thread to warn users and to get help then get punished for 'harassing others' and told to 'get my facts str8..."

Also it's day 3 without payment, I've already waited my 'day or two'...

I love that I received an infraction for being scammed. Anyway, hopefully no one else is tricked by this scammer, because apparently [some of] the staff doesn't care about their users being scammed.

UPDATE 5/9/07:

I messages Jelf looking for my money, he said that since I made this topic he has no desire to pay me. What a scumbag, thinks that it's alright to con someone just because they expose him. Hope no one else falls for this guy.

 

A lot of scammers and thieves on the lose! A user names "The2Dollarpage" held a contest. I've submitted my entry and i've seen him using the logo i submitted without announcing me as the winner and without paying me the price of $101!

 

loads of scammers out there man , we must really deal with people who have been hanging around here & have traded since a long time.

 

Jelf has over 1000 posts so I assumed he may be honest, but i suppose I was mistaken in that effect.

 

U should always ask for the payment first.
