Video Moments: Duran Duran - Girls On Film Duran Duran caused quite a stir with the 1982 release of Girls On Film. The extended release video with a remix of the song was highly controversial. It was the first film clip by a popular artist of the 80's to feature full nudity - although it only appeared for a few seconds . The thread title is "Remember the 80's (your fav. music videos)". Man, does this make me feel ancient! I remember the mid- to late-1950s music! What a glorious era that was — • Elvis coming on the scene and later electrifying the Ed Sullivan TV show • Bill Haley and the Comets jump-starting rock music with "Rock Around the Clock" • The Everly Brothers • Little Richard • The Drifter, the Coasters, the Shirelles, the Miracles • Trips to the famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem, NY • And so much more. • Then right after that came the Beatles as a sea change in music. They were a music force of almost immeasurable power. Those were great days to be a young man with an ear and a heart for music.
Ooooh the 80's best years of my life, skateboarding and bmx early 80's, then football and the football fashion on the terraces then the illegal acid house parties. Thousands of young people riving around the M25 motorway in the UK trying to dodge the police to get to the rave. We listened to pirate radio stations to keep up to date of where the rave was as it could sometime move to 3 or 4 venues in one night due to the police. sigh those were the days. So my fav music then was acid house and dance/house. Heres a clip from one of the sunrise parties i went to, amazing.
