Most of those are basically indicating that a goldmine was hit. And that's true. Find a topic that doesn't have a forum, and you've inherited an oil well. I think, good promotion and advertising was the key.
I think the free BST section sets DP apart from other webmaster forums... and it's mere size right now makes it the place to be
Well it started off as support forums for shawns tools that gained a bunch of attention. Then it transformed into webmaster forums and it already had a good userbase so it grew from there. Reason I stopped going to other ones and posting is because its less strict. Some of them put nofollow in signature links. Some of them mod the crap out of you. Some of them just plain suck or make you pay.
i have only seen one link on site-sift directory for digital point in my life but it has good page rank and great community
100% correct. And it is also a proof of what can happen when the founders are truly dedicated to his/hers site. Thats something to think about.
Isnt Shawn raking in about 120 grand a year with AdSense? I can honestly say I'd be pretty committed myself.
Yep. Revenue is the result. Commitment is the reason. Many successful people like to do things that interest them without thinking about the results they get.
I found this site through google when i was searching for "sell your domain" , This site comes up under alot of different search terms and very high ranked to it makes it easy to find, has a good layout, friendly members & a whole lot of sections to offer and keep members occupied.
The strength of DP can easily be measured in the pub it gets in other forums. I kept seeing references to DP this, and DP that, and it got me curious enough to research it for myself. When I finally did, I was simply amazed at participation and breadth of discussions. I'm glad I found this place, and I truly appreciate the efforts of those who keep it thriving. Many thanks, -Brian
I dont know about how it got started but Myself and i'm sure a lot of other people found it because it ranks very well for a lot of search terms and you almost cant help but find it if your doing any kind of searching for web related stuff on the net.
superior website with awesome tools for the users as well as an awesome forum with very helpful people on it that go out of their way and take time to assist eachother i love being a party of this community for this reason
