I have just sent editors registration form to DMOZ and if Dmoz accept me, I will approve any site within 24 hours! Also I will use this idea: If I reject your site you will get email from me intead of ignore you!
Only problem is that you will be stuck in some tiny category with dozen websites and zero submissions for each advance you will need hundreds of edits - DMOZ is not Wikipedia.
He is, but he is more a black hat kinda guy...He makes some good money at it too, he keeps telling me how to do things but I would rather it the right way.
DMOZ does seem to have a bias. I have had sites accepted that I believe are of lower quality, less content than other sites I have that have taken years to get in. Oh well. I guess it depends on how the editor feels that day.
If google bought DMOZ, I guess DMOZ will be very different. but I don't think google will buy DMOZ because google uses DMOZ directory indeed.
I want Google manages DMOZ because Google always want the best results for both visitors & webmasters.
Google has its limitations. A couple years back I was teaching my then almost 7 year old grandson Bryan how to use Google to find information when he had questions. He even learned to search for pictures. He did a bunch of searches and was amazed at this wonderful new question answering method he was just introduced to when he got the idea to find out if it had a picture of him. He typed in the term "bryan boy" (because he's a boy) and well, I guarantee you, you've never seen a grandpa move so quick in your life.
Ha! I remember that night! Out of curiosity I just repeated the same image search. Google is doing much better these days, nothing X rated came up.
