Hi All, I am curious as to everyones thoughts on accepting casino "guides" and resources. I did a search and saw a lot of posts about casino sites, but didn't see any discussion about these "gray" areas. Since they don't have gambling on the actual site, do you treat them differently? We don't accept illegal sites, but technically these sites aren't illegal . Do you think there are Paypal issues with these? Curious as to your thoughts. Morty
I actually had a submission this morning Title was Vegas Poker 101, the site itself didn't have much content 4 pages, and mostly articles from free article sites, and Google ads. So I sent a refund.
I wont accept a site thats even just talking about something if its related to a type of site that i wont accept. So basically no relation in anyway to gambling.
I'd rather be safe than sorry. With paypal locking accounts that accept these submissions I would rather not accept them. But sometimes it can be tempting
OK, I have to admit, I thought that if a site served as a guide, and didn't conduct actual gambling transactions that it wouldn't be against Paypal's guidelines. However, after reading the entire acceptable use policy (before I just read the first paragraph and the Gambling section) , but way below the fold I did find: (from Acceptable Use Policy) So I guess it is explicitly against the Paypal policy, which I never realized. Thanks everyone! I appreciate your input. Morty
I don't take in casino sites. You can see one submission page here of my directory. http://www.ruuz.com/submit.php I have already posted the warning and even if they send me the money their link is not going to be live.
Yip seems that paypal will definatly be proud of ya... But thier is other pay processers that will not question such sites... and we are working on giving our submitters more payment methods. thx malcolm
This brings up a question. If you use Paypal and have a policy like this (basically no refund on these types of sites), would the customer be able to succesfully dispute/chargeback the fee since it is against Paypal's terms? Morty
i own alot of gambling websites and my paypal email has always been info @ casinobonusguy.com , i never had any issues but the feelings people have towards gambling sites and not selling us links is why I recently bought a pr7 domain to put all gambling stuff on.Now i just have to decide if i will let anyone else in
Back in Jan of 07 My pay pal account was put on hold until I removed the gambling category I had at index-it.net. You can get slamed by pay pal if you ever get caught so be careful.
wow they really had the time to look at your website? Can you ask them to look into the $2000 I lost from 2 years ago and the computer I never received? hehehe
But is it OK if you have the category and them accept payment for those sites different way and accpet payment for normal categories through Paypal?
I'm sure there are tons of ways to try and cheat the system, but why bother? Here is what they sent me "We appreciate the fact that you chose PayPal to send and receive payments for your transactions. Yes some do try to file a chargeback and they lose the case. Because I am already telling them that there is a hole in ground here so watch out. But still they want to fall in the ditch. If I get 2 payments per day and have to refund both the payments then It would be total waste of my time. Moreover I have not made it as listing fees but just made it as a review fees for my time that I spend on reviewing the sites. So it cannot be said I am selling links
