Hi, I opened my directory in late-Febuary. It became PR2 last month after around 6-8 weeks. I am very happy, but am i risking anything in google by increasing the links and other things so fast? ROb
Nope you are not risking anything. I know some sites which zoomed to google pr4 in no time. The real toughie is getting from pr 4 to higher numbers.
0 to pr2 is no problem. Up to Pr 3 is easy and fast. When you get over Pr4 it takes alot of work to get each rank above that.
Two of my sites, started in Feb, reached PR 4 in first update. Nothing wrong with it, as long as you are not using any blackhat techniques or link exchanges. Yup, up to PR 5 is easy, it takes a lot of efforts beyond that.
some even can increse from o to 6 ^^ so your case is not a problem at all. just make sure you dont get tons of backlinks so fast or in a short periods of time. that should be fine.

As long as the back links coming to your site are legitimate, you don't have to worry. All it takes is some hard work and promotion and you can easily jump your site's PR in that amount of time. I started a new directory in mid March and it got bumped up to PR3 in last month's update and already shows 7 backlinks in google's "link:" search and has 547 pages indexed.
from 0 to 2 or 3 is really simple and easy if you can go from 0 to 4 you are ok, and if from 0 to 5 then, great work
