Submissions from casino "guides"

    Hi All,
I am curious as to everyones thoughts on accepting casino "guides" and resources. I did a search and saw a lot of posts about casino sites, but didn't see any discussion about these "gray" areas.

Since they don't have gambling on the actual site, do you treat them differently? We don't accept illegal sites, but technically these sites aren't illegal . Do you think there are Paypal issues with these?

    Curious as to your thoughts.

I actually had a submission this morning Title was Vegas Poker 101, the site itself didn't have much content 4 pages, and mostly articles from free article sites, and Google ads. So I sent a refund.

I wont accept a site thats even just talking about something if its related to a type of site that i wont accept.

So basically no relation in anyway to gambling.

I'd rather be safe than sorry.
With paypal locking accounts that accept these submissions I would rather not accept them. But sometimes it can be tempting ;)

OK, I have to admit, I thought that if a site served as a guide, and didn't conduct actual gambling transactions that it wouldn't be against Paypal's guidelines.

However, after reading the entire acceptable use policy (before I just read the first paragraph and the Gambling section) , but way below the fold I did find:
    (from Acceptable Use Policy)
So I guess it is explicitly against the Paypal policy, which I never realized.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate your input.

I don't take in casino sites. You can see one submission page here of my directory.

    http://www.ruuz.com/submit.php

I have already posted the warning and even if they send me the money their link is not going to be live.

This brings up a question. If you use Paypal and have a policy like this (basically no refund on these types of sites), would the customer be able to succesfully dispute/chargeback the fee since it is against Paypal's terms?

i own alot of gambling websites and my paypal email has always been info @ casinobonusguy.com , i never had any issues but the feelings people have towards gambling sites and not selling us links is why I recently bought a pr7 domain to put all gambling stuff on.Now i just have to decide if i will let anyone else in :)

Back in Jan of 07 My pay pal account was put on hold until I removed the gambling category I had at index-it.net. You can get slamed by pay pal if you ever get caught so be careful.

I'm sure there are tons of ways to try and cheat the system, but why bother?

Here is what they sent me

"We appreciate the fact that you chose PayPal to send and receive payments
    for your transactions.

However, after a recent review of your account, it has been determined that
you are currently in violation of PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy. The
Policy prohibits the use of PayPal to send or receive payments for any form
of gambling activities, including but not limited to payment for wagers,
gambling debts or gambling winnings, whether conducted online, in person or
through any other means of communication. This includes all casino games,
sports books and sports betting, horse and greyhound racing,
person-to-person betting, and certain games of skill. The complete
Acceptable Use Policy addressing Gambling can be found at the following URL:

    http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/ua/use/index_frame-outside&ed=gambling

To appeal the limitation on your account, you will need to:

    1. Remove PayPal as a payment option, as well as all references to PayPal,
including the PayPal logo and/or shopping cart, from the section of your
    website: www.index-it.net/submit-casino-games.html;

    2. Submit the online Acceptable Use Policy affidavit

This is not intended to be an all-inclusive review or list of your Internet
sites in violation. Furthermore, the violations of the Policy described
above are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. It is the
responsibility of the user to ensure that all transactions comply with the
    Acceptable Use Policy.

For more information about the status of your account and for instructions
on how to restore full use of your account, please log in to your PayPal
    account.

We encourage you to log in and restore full access as soon as possible.
Should access to your account remain limited for an extended period of
time, it may result in permanent limitation.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. If you have any
questions, please contact the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy Department at
    .

    Sincerely,
    PayPal Acceptable Use Policy Department
    PayPal, an eBay Company"

I would just move on, there are 1,000's of other quality sites that will submit to your directory and those are the ones you want submitting anyway.

Yes some do try to file a chargeback and they lose the case. Because I am already telling them that there is a hole in ground here so watch out. But still they want to fall in the ditch. If I get 2 payments per day and have to refund both the payments then It would be total waste of my time. Moreover I have not made it as listing fees but just made it as a review fees for my time that I spend on reviewing the sites. So it cannot be said I am selling links ;)
