Not sure how it happened, but I am officially ranked #1 in google for searches for "child shag"... that's right... I started noticing that I was getting A LOT more google traffic lately and after closer observation, I discovered that a lot of people are finding my site, by doing a search for "child shag"... not sure how I should feel about this, but I now know that my forum is the new home for pedophiles. Go team!
Yeah... but I think I'm going to roll with this. I figure there has to be a place for everyone... and looks like city shag is the official home to perverts and pedophiles... Each site has to cater to a specific audience... looks like I've found mine. hahaha... ewww... ;0
What makes me smile is that you've had the keywords "child" and "shag" in your website in the first place?
hahaha... google is working perfectly, it's not google at all. But it's just hilarious that SMF forums are defaulted with 'child boards' and that since my board is called city shag, it just sort of clumped it together. I fear what other things will come up in searches as more of my pages are listed... it's only been 2 weeks since I started the forum, so I'm sure there are going to be A LOT of other unusual search terms showing up.
If some thing like this happened to one of my websites, I don’t know whether I would be happy with all the extra traffic I would be getting or pissed because of getting ranked for a pedophile keyword.
Well, since my site is somewhat edgy in nature, I think it works. If I had a site for parenting or raising children, then I might be a bit concerned... probably wouldn't be good if it was a forum for teens either... but because of the nature of the site, I think that having a few pedophiles will do nothing more than make conversation more interesting... if that is even possible... ;0 I'm going to see if we can rank high on other horribly unusual search terms in the future. I'm thinking with enough work, we could have huge amounts of jacked up traffic! ;0
Strange.. but atleast if you rank high your site isn't filled with sick content... so they're not finding what they're looking for
It is amazing what accidental seo can do. That is how I found my way online. This is really a lesson in the power of words. You can really control ad content the same way. That is what Google thought your site was about - because of a couple instances of the word "child".
Put a note on the top of your website: "Note, is has come to our attention that the majority of the visitors are perverts and pedophiles. Your IP has been traced and your identity will now be reported to the police. Thank you for your patience."
That could be THE biggest money making idea... Not only do you make money, but you catch pedophiles at the same time.
