Haha...Good tips there! Actually I am thinking about getting some T-shirts printed with the url of my directory on. It's a good suggestion too,it will make your directory outstanding!
I am afraid i don't get it, the point of the article that is what do you mean by re directs ? are you refering to re directs of the links ? is this seo friendly in your eyes ? do you think webmasters are keen on redirected urls?
Here is a another idea... delete all those links to sites that are parked at: godaddy or elsewhere! Get the old crap out of your directory!
Check the title of the thread:33 Killer Ways to Increase Your Directory Traffic for Free And sure, most directories will not accept those sites.
I don't believe he is referring to 301's for changed page names, when people talk about redirects they should be explicit, Furthermore, that thing about validating your directory html, I've yet to see any decisive evidence that validated html is of any SEO value, In any case, all you chaps using phpld, or phpbd like me, how were you going to edit your html , hmmm , hmmm
wow... I wish I could see it even the proxy you gave didn't work... haha (nvm, that anonymouse link thing worked out well)
The Directory Kit did not work correctly since the name servers were not assigned properly. But now I think that it should work! So now please visit the article again. Also Check out the list of forums to announce your directory. I am looking forward writing other great articles so bookmark the site and subscribe. templates, pm me. I inserted the new widget for users to subscribe to the rss feed. Try it out. Finally somebody noticed the joke. But it might work for some...
We got This Shirts and a Close Up Shot for a 100 pieces only last December 25, 2007 and was published at V7N. Will get the new ones once we hit some juice.
lol... But the words are hard to read...you should have used another font. I remembered Jeff was running a t-shirt design contest, long long time ago..Hmm.....
In the actual shirt its ok though but will make it more bolder and with different font. Give me a couple of weeks when the The Next Big 3 Design Sample comes in. Dirsensei, Directory Dump and eWebPages. MD-FL-Global
Getting rid of parked pages might not increase traffic in the short term, but it will generate good word-of-mouth and encourage repeat traffic. People will come back if they know they can actually find something useful with your directory. It's as valid as the favicon tip.
I am sure most will not accept the godaddy and other parked pages.. .but when someone lets their domain go and godaddy grabs it... after a year you can end up with a lot of that junk..
If you are talking about "creating the buzz" then it doesn't matter if you are ten or eleven. What matters is that you are unique in a way. Being 11 years old and owning a directory will help you to create a buzz and promote your directory faster if you know how to do it right.
