I agree. LOL! Yeah, sure. There are lots of online resources for SEO. But it takes time to learn and master it. Not to tell the weekly updates that you should digest because search engines are always updating.
I make a lot. But its not just because of SEO, SEO is just a by-product. Because of my SEO skills, I've been able to start a lot of other business ventures that start with SEO and turn into 'internet marketing'.
Goes up and down for me, but for actual seo not a whole lot. I have taken other paths of certain areas of SEO and made decent money.
I make 90% of my earnings with SEO and the rest on my own sites which im benefitting from because of SEO so im pretty much the same
Put adsense on your blog. If you have interesting post you can have high traffic which can give you earnings from adsense.
You can earn quite a few bucks doing SEO but there are so many SEO's around nowadays so the difference would be in how good you are at it

Unless you or your staff in those countries where you have $ conversion benefits its not much beneficial to go for directory submissions or link building Slowly start your own internet ventures rater than relying on much from direct income from SEO unless you get a real corporate to pay good enough for your efforts and skills
Any good SEO should not have any problem making XXXX, I am not talking about those offering their services for $200 those are not SEO cause no good SEO will bothered for $200
I would suggest Internet Marketing as a whole would be better choice. And try to master the web developing skills too if you are not already!.
Rome was not built over night... similarly SEO cannot be mastered over night. Jump in, get dirty, learn the tricks of the trade, offer a service where you either help others from what you've learnt or teach them what works for you. You'll rake in a lot of cash. I was over worked and underpaid for too many years at a search engine submission company turned seo firm, but there I got 7 years of really good experience optimizing all kinds of websites, from duct tape to job sites, gift baskets to computer hardware. Now I'm an in-house SEO and get a pretty decent wage. Who'd a thunk it 8 years ago, I'd be some kind of well paid specialist. Results. You don't get the big money till you got a bunch of big results to show em.
Hmmm let me see if I am willing to answer this... I earn from having an SEO job. I earn from doing ad publishing and affiliate marketing. I earn a little bit more from domaining. I did not earn but won a car in the SEO World Championship. But sorry, I can't give specific amounts.
