The latest algorithm changes declared war on Link Buying and Matt Cuttss putt it "this is the same as spam" as it's polluting the index with not so good quality websites by artificially increasing their "trustworthiness" having enormous amount of links.

Do you think Link Buying should be considered "Black Hat Technique" as of what they say about it? For me this is definitely a way to spread the word and it is NOT SPAM!

    Cheers and please vote.

I would do link trading that buying links. If you would read the very definition of PR in google, links are considered as votes by a site to another site. If you will buy links, then surely, it's artificial. In election, it's like vote buying (LOL!).

If done right google will not be able to detect you are buying links. It is not spam to buy links. i don't generally buy links and if I do the value of the traffic and authority of the site must be good enough that any SE traffic is icing on the cake.

Let me clarify then .. buying links is alo buying blog posts, review and etc that are NOT NATURAL!

You're saying that you don't do that ??? Please come on ...

I personally buy shitloads of links .. and that's normal ... but I cover my websites with a lot of quality content so it wont be spam but more like a sort of SEO advertising .. in fact that's how it should be considered if you ask me ...

    Cheers,

Matt cutts blog post got a lot of people in a up roar for no reason. If that was the case then google themsefs would be dead, as we really only need to buy links to be in google. so i would leave google if that was the case and it is not!

Buying links is advertising - if it's good enough for google to sell ads, it's good enough for me :)

From what I understood from the new google patent that was published on April 26 2007 LINK SPAM or Link Buying is underlined and is something that all should be aware of.
But the only way to protect yourself while your buying links is to keep the web page content updated frequently so that those links that you bought be understood as Breaking NEWS Releases rather than raise flag for spam!

More on that topic you can visit : The new Google Patent and the new quality guidelines on my SEONewsBlog.com

    Cheers,

I'm unsure if I understand you, and if I did follow what you said, I'm unsure if you understood Matt Cutt's blog post.

You do not need to buy links to be included in Google. I've NEVER bought a link, and all of my sites are included.

Let me put in a real world scenario; a politician buying votes, white, gray or black hat technique?

But then again if it is being done with traffic in mind and as a form of advertisement with a sponsored link tag or some thing, then the scenario changes.
