I hate thread bumping but did the original poster ever get a Volvo? S40 is one of the better Volvo cars now. The C30 and XC90 are probably the only new Volvos I would buy. Maybe just be but I like Volvos:

RE dodge ram they are ok but the transmission sucks. That and the payload was too small for what we needed.

 

i really like volvos..i think they are the nicest cars on the road..but i read too many problems that ppl have with volvos

so i got an audi a4

 

I had an S40 T4, I was quite happy with it till it's front left caliper kept deciding to lock up whilst driving it, I never did get an answer from Volvo as to why this happened with 3 different calipers. Still, I found it more comfortable than the 3 series I had before it and it was a heck of alot quicker. I am actually considering an S40 T5 next time I change so I guess my experiences of Volvo are far from negative. Don't expect it to hold it's value well though.

 

Yeah my daily is a M BMW, but with work Volvos can be fun. S60R new is close to 40k+. 2 Years old 22k. Its great if you wanna play with them. The body kit on the 2004 cost me more than the car did with 800 miles on it.

 

Audi a4 is a WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY better choice! Im glad you didn't go with a shitless volvo. I was telling you all along that they are garbage

 

I like the new Volvo C30. I also registered domain name myC30.com (now for sale) and wanted to set up a forum for its owners, but I've given up this idea, as I've found out setting up a new forum is really difficult...

I agree the boxster is a ladies porshe missing about 200HP from all the rest

 

Not everyone can afford a 911. . The the Boxter is much closer to the Volvo pricewise.

 

I can't afford one either but you'll never see me driving a Boxter
