Infractions - Please Read

I'm sorry about this...but I had no idea that bumping wasn't allowed as the edit button doesn't work over a certain period of time. I just received a warning for bumping my thread...But other users...have been bumping their threads see here:

Most likely those Mafaka's got infractions as well

 

My point is...Since I'm new around DP, when I first joined this forum, I never saw the infractions rule thread. This forum is far too big. As other people were bumping their threads, I thought it would be acceptable to bump once a day.

I know it'll probably seem quite radical thinking to some, but you might want to include an abbreviated form of this list of rules on the sign up page. I had no idea this post existed until today when some ringpiece gave me an "infraction"

 

Was the infraction you got for something that wasn't listed in the faq/rules that's at the top of every page?

There's no list of infractions in the link provided at the top of every page. However, there is a list of links that takes me to another page that eventually gets me to a list of "posting guidelines" - there is nothing that states an individual will receive an infraction for breaking these rules; perhaps that is buried elsewhere? Thanks for being such a good Samaritan though; I'd surmise there are about another 50K members here who'd also benefit from your noble efforts

 

I doubt that most members know, or care, about infractions.

They only become important when you're a real jerk.

 

Yes, you are probably right; nice to know what they are for though.

And they always seem to turn up right on cue...

You are correct, sir!

 

You're best bet is not to bump threads in places where you know no one will answer

 

I think complaining about infractioins should be an automatic infraction. If anything 1/2 the points...

 

It pretty much is

 

it's a new rule. not half, but it's worth something.

 

I think those that do not know how to read should first be called Mafaka's and then receive an infraction for being one
