Yahoo to be bought buy Microsoft

atlast one real big competitor is arrived for Adsense and its Search Engine.... hope YPN will be made international soon in a month....

 

It would be interesting if Microsoft went ahead with this. I wonder what impact it would have on the future of advertising and search engines.

 

As long as we make the big bucks I'm all for it.

 

I think that someday Yahoo will be acquired, but it appears that the current unsolicited offer by microsoft has been rejected.

 

Microsoft seems to be unable to acquire any new companies.

 

It appears that Microsoft and Yahoo have discussing a possible sale since last year. According to a blog post on Shoemoney's blog.

 

Yes, since last year. But no mutual agreement on both sites yet. Did yahoo asking for more than $50b?

 

If Yahoo gets bought by microsoft won't that be a bad thing because there aren't a lot of other competitors out there.

Quite possibly since they made $38 billion alone last year. Apparently there is quite a lot of potential with Yahoo. So the $38 billion + the 10 reasons Shoemoney blogged about.

Who made $38 billion? This number can't be correct either way.

 

Interesting, wonder what it means for the future of the Publisher program?

 

Maybe the advantage is for publishers. Because there's two BIG competitor... It's duopoly anyway..

 

Any way these kinds of deals are not going to happen due to Judiciary tightneing up the belly company acquisations. Bt who knows anythin might happen when it comes to Big G and Bill Gates

 

This has been circulateing for a while as a hoax, maybe microsoft has decided to do it? But i doubt this will be happening any time soon.
EDIT: ON reflection, Considering microsoft has put so much money and time into Live (Microsofts answer to google) I doubt this will go ahead and its probably all rumours, when i see some facts i will make up my own mind.

 

It's not a rumor; there were talking about a possible acquisition or a form of a partnership.
It just never materialized, but that doesn't make it a rumor.

 

This could be really bad or really good. I don't think Microsoft has the same mindset as yahoo, as yahoo seems to be pushing forward to attempt to compete, and Microsoft always falls short. If they do this it could be a disaster and be the end of both and Google would be out on top even better then right now.

Also factoring in when companies get together it takes a while to get everything settled I don't think it could work. Google will pull ahead either way, and these companies should look for another option like attempting to compete.

 

I never liked monopolies, but it's the way the internet is taking. When some new company appears with a new product, it's swallowed. Now that is happening to even bigger companies... but Yahoo? It would be a bargain.

 

I have read in the newspaper that the talk are off.
But still they are talking about a possible Joint Venture to defeat Google that would be a great news. If Microsoft can get the Yahoo search engine no one can beat them.
Also a small tip for live. Why don't they make their design simple like google. so people will get attracted.

 

And hand it over to Microsoft? That's not good news...
