Help:Difference between Link Command And Webmaster Tool Link Command

    Hi

    Can any one tel me please
    why google is showing different results in both the link commands. Which one is the correct one.

    Link command which is showing only 6 links and the link command in webmaster tool it is showing 256 links.

    What could be the reason why google is showing two results.

    Can any one help me plz.

    Because the link database in google is only updated a couple of times a year, the webmaster tools is updated more often.

    Link commands do not show you all of your backlinks.

    Webmasters tool links tool shows you most of your backlinks to authorized webmasters.(I guess only those which are counted by google at the moment)

    Maybe because google don't want other site to spy on their competitor. Like in webmaster you can see all the backlinks of your site because you have access to your site. Your competitor won't see the real number of your backlinks.
